They should make a reunion of this show, starring Carl & Harriet, their 4 children, in age order, Eddie, Laura, Judy, and 3J. It definately would not be a reunion without the ever hilarious Stephen "Steve" Urkel. Let me know what you all think.

That would probably be cool, except they can't just bring Judy back out of nowhere.

With Reunions where the kids are all grown, anything can happen.

It would be nice, but the show haven't really been off the air that much since it ended in 1998. We know where most of the main characters are today. Maybe another 10 years depending on the syndication and the whereabouts of the cast.

The Brady Bunch did their first reunion 3 years after the original ended.

Well, Jaleel had stated that he wouldn't want to play Urkel again anytime soon. I guess if anything, he'd just have to show up as himself and show flashbacks of the series. Though it would be cool to have a reunion movie with everyone in character and a new plot and all.

That's true. Jaleel doesn't do Steve Urkel anymore. :(

A big reunion would be great. Starring, of course, our pal Steven Urkel aka Steve. Carl & Harriett Winslow and their 4 children, in order, Eddie, Laura, Judy, and 3J. The return of Waldo and Aunt Rachel with her son, Richie. With special guest appearances by Steve's mom and dad, who have returned from Russia to re-establish their relationship with Steve, and Harriett's father just dropping by. What a great reunion it would be.:)

One problem though. Grandma Winslow passed a few years ago.

Well, they could recast her.

No, they shouldn't. However, it could have been possible for them to have a reunion without Estelle.

Well, they could recast her.

That would be disrespect to the character and Rosetta Lenoire.

recasting barely works anyhow. Look at Judyann Elder , the 2nd Harriet.

I know, I was just saying. They'd probably say Estelle died.

Furienna

Or just not mention her at all, like if she had died years before and they didn't think much about her anymore. She wasn't an important character towards the end anwyay.

Not to mention the person who played Myra died 10 years ago. But hey, Home Improvement had a 'Reunion' episode 5 years ago and because of the WGA Strike, maybe they should with the remaining cast.

I think that the Family Matters reunion would work best as a retrospective clip show and NOT a new movie because some actors have died or don't want to do their roles anymore. Like they did with "The Cosby Show" a few years back.

Oh. I'm sorry about that. But all in all, a reunion sounds great. And we never saw Harriett's parents. Now would be a great time to show them.

There are two problems with that too.

1: We did see Harriet's and Rachel's father once. He had walked out of his family when his daughters were small.
2: Their mother was dead already when they met their father again.

Are you sure their mother was dead? Maybe they edited the line out?

I've read that in an interview, but I sure hope he will change his mind. And he did like playing Steve Urkel, otherwise he wouldn't be in the show for 9 years. He says he loves the character, but don't want to play him, cause he played Steve for so long, maybe he get a little tired.

Furienna

Yeah, I think he should do a reunion thing too. I mean, after all these years, playing Steve for a short time can't be that bad, can it?

Jessica

No, it can't be that bad :)

I agree. They could bring back Waldo, Steve's mom and dad trying to re-establish a relationship with Steve, and Harriett's mom and dad. With a dedication to Grandma and Grandpa Winslow.:)

Harriette's dad was only seen in one single episode, and her mum is dead. Carl's dad was dead in the show too, and now, tha actress playing his mother is dead too.

Are you sure her moms dead because Ive seen that ep with ther father a couple times and there was nothing to lead you to believe shes dead.

I always thought she was dead. That was the impression, that I got from that one episode about their father. And also, why would the Winslows have her Christmas ornaments, unless she had died?

Jessica
08-20-2008, 12:47 PM
Yeah, Carl talked about his dad in the show, but Hariette never talked about her mum, or dad, but he was shown in one episode, like you said.

The episode is called "Finding The Words" and it was in season 2.

Maybe she passed them down, or was too old to put up atree and decorate herself

Furienna

There's also the fact, that we never got to see her, which also suggests that she was dead.

Lorimar Television
08-21-2008, 04:56 PM
Yeah, but we never saw 3 of Carls brothers either!

Furienna

Carl had three brothers, and we once saw one of them.

Jessica

I don't know. I just always thought she was dead.

Maybe not, even though I always assumed she was dead. But they hardly talked about her, so we don't know much about her anyway.

And now, I just found out the actor who played Harriette and Rachel's dad that one time is dead now, too. So, the reunion would be without any grandparents. It could be dedicated to all of them somehow though.

Furienna

At this point, I believe Carl and Harriette are the grandparents. ;)

Agreed. With Carl's parents and Harriette's parents gone, it's up to them to pick up the grandparent slack.
