i was watching clips of this lame show on the internet and considering they have had rosie o' donnell, whoopi goldberg and now elizabeth hassleback hosting this show and of which has a celebrity panel raising various topical discussions, i was literatelly wondering are all the people on the view- the panelists and the hosts all liberals. are they? and alas you wonder to yourself why the hell is this show still on?

this show reminds me of a programme called loose women in the UK where the premise is almost the same, apart from the fact, they talk about feminist issues and the fact that that show is boring. well, i've seen it and it reminded me of The View

Whats wrong with being a Liberal?? We liberals are just people who care about other people and think that gvmt should be more caring also!

( While I wasnt really intentionally trying to insult Conservatives Janice, I reread what i wrote and saw how it could be construed that way; i hope this is more acceptable.)

Whats wrong with being a Liberal?? We liberals are just people who care about something besides packing our own wallets with money.
( Not that we dont need a little money too, now and then  )

mikey, i have nothing against them personally. there are things i agree with and things i don't agree with. i don't consider myself a leftist, right-wing or in the middle. nor am into politics. there's too much behind the scenes stuff that we don't know about that i find worrying

Well, I never worry too much about the "party politics " either....those guys are ALL crooked! ;) ( For me being Liberal is more of a personal philosophy, than a party thing.....I believe in social programs, for instance, but, also in the death penalty )

Anyway....enough political talk :p

To be honest, I really don't see why it's such a big deal on who's liberal or not, the show's stupid no matter what polictial side they are on.

Waichingliu81 was not insulting liberals. Just seemed to be raising the question of the View panel being balanced out, as it should be. You, on the other hand, did insult conservatives. You did the very thing that you wrongly accused him/her of doing.

If you're going to have a panel discussing politics, I think it very much matters who's a liberal or not. There should be balance on any political panel discussion show.

True, but I really don't take this show seriously when it comes to politics..or anything for that matter since Meredith, Lisa, and Star left and since Rosie stormed in and totally changed the show's format.

I've never been a fan, but from what I've read, the show wasn't that political before O'Donnell showed up. Maybe it will go back to its roots now. Ratings aren't everything, when a show's reputation is destroyed. Those are junk ratings aka Jerry Springer ratings. If I was Barbara Walters, I'd rather have a class act of a show, even if the ratings weren't through the roof. At least she can hold her head high then.

that's the main reason i was asking this question- to find out the political stance that The View seems to be taking based on the collective views of the female panel. whether that'll be conservative, liberal or in the centre

thank you janice. :) as before i didn't say i hate liberals, nor did i imply i disliked them. my feelings on this are neutral it was just something i wanted to know. i'm sure though that mikado didn't mean to say what he'd said on here in an offensive way and btw, i am female

You liberals care about the government being in control. That what socialism is and that is what your heros, Hillary and Obama, want. Tax the hell out of everyone and let the government make your choices for you.

And having money in your pocket is called capitalism. It's what makes this country great. Everyone is able to go out and make as much money as they want to. The only ones who b*tch about it are the ones who are too damn lazy to do anything and want the government to take care of them( See Canada in the dictionary).

What does this have to do with the topic?

i was thinking exactly the same thing but i chose not to respond to his thread because i thought it was irrelevant and unrelated to the subject itself
