First of all, passengers must be strapped into their seats upon takeoff. Secondly, I doubt if a small propeller airplane in those days had a "lounge."

Actually as planes were still competing with luxurious passenger rail travel in the 1950s , many of the larger passenger planes of the time, did indeed have small "cocktail lounges".

:) Glad to help out.....It sometimes makes me wonder WHERE I pick up all this trivia......I guess the fact that i read history books and watch documentaries as if they were both the hottest fiction, might have something to do with it. :D

Todays planes are designed for max passenger capacity, rather than comfort, so the lounge has been replaced by the servers bringing the drinks to your seat....probably NOT the best idea, but, it makes money for the airline, and i guess thats all that matters

Although, I too, like Stacy wondered, "Lounge? what lounge?" It must have been pretty small, only because the plane they showed on that episode (the view from the inside) seemed VERY SMALL. Even if it is just a cocktail lounge, it must have been tiny.

I LOVE IT!! My favorite episode. I really thinks it captures the craziness of her thinking so well. And of course Mary Jane Croft as the mother is a hoot. Lucy drinking the baby formula, OMG, deja vu to the ViteMeataVegimin. I'm gonna watch this again tonight!!:crazy: :wave:

Love the episode:D I like at the end when Ricky is explaing what Lucy did and the customs officer asked Ricky found this odd behavior and Ricky answered "For Lucy? No." One of my favorite Ricky moments.:cool:
