I'd be interested to hear anyone's theories about the case of missing OSU Med student, Brian Shaffer.

Another OSU student named Hiroshi Hayashi went missing almost a month later. His disappearance turned out to be a hoax but the circumstances are quite weird -- he went to the same high school as Brian and the date he went missing is the same as the date that Brian's abandoned apartment was broken into -- maybe the connection is just a weird coincidance...

Any thoughts, ideas?

This case is seriously weird. They've featured it on one of the news magazine shows (Dateline maybe?). It's truly like he disappeared into thin air. I guess some of the friends he was with that night aren't talking. I didn't know about the separate hoax incident.

Yeah, this case is insane. I don't know what to make of it, really. Brian didn't seem like the type of guy to just vanish. I totally think foul play, but I have no idea where his body could have went. That's just me, though.

i wonder if he went the way of wade steffey - who was found in the transformer (i think) of his dorm. maybe brian fell down an elevator shaft.

on the other hand, there were some stories that reported a sighting of brian a week after he went missing. i think it was a homeless guy who sighted him in columbus.

Looks like there is a suspect in Brian's disappearance, his friend Clint Florence.
