3. My favorite episode was the one where Mumford left his magic wand lying around and Marie was standing near by fixing a radio and there was this duck there too so Big Bird comes over and pick up the wand and says all a peanut butter sandwiches and poof goes the smoke and then Marie sounds like the duck like the radio and the radio sounds like the duck.

Jo, thanks for posting these! I'm 28 and grew up with Jim Henson's wonderful Muppets & Sesame Street. I remembered almost all of them, especially the Carmen-singing orange, Oklahoma and the crayon factory ones. I always loved Big Bird and Grover the most of the gang (in fact, the very first movie I ever saw in a theater was Follow That Bird back in 1985!), and still have many of the Sesame Street storybooks that my mom bought me as a kid. I can't wait to read them to my baby nephew when he gets a little older. I'm also tickled by how obviously 1970s and 1980s some of these clips are.

Other recurring bits I enjoyed: Monsterpiece Theatre, Pretty Great Performances, Super Grover, and News Flashes by Kermit. CLASSIC TV!!

I love Elmo but Big Bird is always the big dog to me. My favorite human character is the queen of the street who happens to be Mrs. Robinson, better know as "Susan". Slimey is a cute little thing and my favorite clip is from a 1971 ep when Susan is singing "Three of these things belong together" and Kermit takes it that he the frog does not belong. :lol:

I love those clips. My favorite is the morphing alphabet clips. The classical music one is my favorite.

I love Sesame Street. I loved all the characters; my favourites were Ernie and Big Bird and I loved the Ernie and Bert skits and the ones between Grover and that chubby blue man.

I LOVE Grover. I had the book "A monster at the end of this book" when I was little and that is the first book that I bought for my son when he was born.

I always liked Big Bird too. My son has a stuffed Big Bird in his closet in his room.

^ Hey Michelle - I have that same Grover book!! I got it from my grandma when I was very little and just learning to read. When my nephew gets a little older, I will read it to him, too. :)

I wish someone would put all these classic Sesame Street bits onto DVD. I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

You know, I enjoyed watching SS when I was a wee little youngster. I have come to enjoy watching it again with my son who is five. Now that he is in school, he doesn't get to watch it in the morning like he used to, but I do remember when he was 6 months old as soon as he heard the Elmo song..."Da da da da, da da da da, Elmo's World..." he would sit up real quick and his eyes would just gaze at the tv screen the whole time Elmo was on.

There is a SS moment that I love so much. It features the Goo Goo Dolls (musical group) and they are singing their song with Elmo. As a matter of fact, any celebrity with Elmo is a great moment. I wish I could have all those moments on a DVD.
