Brooke Mueller has blasted love rival Denise Richards' claims against her ex-husband Charlie Sheen, branding them "laughable."

Former Bond girl Richards, 36, filed the papers at Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday, in which she is seeking "the assistance of the court to obtain orders to protect her children" from Sheen.

Richards further claims their two children--Sam, 3, and 2-year-old Lola--didn't learn of their father's engagement to Mueller, 30, until it was announced on a TV show.

But Mueller refutes these claims, saying, "That is 100 percent untrue. Denise begged us on a few difference occasions not to tell the girls we were engaged."

Richards also filed e-mails from Mueller where she allegedly apologizes for Sheen's past tirades against his former wife. But Mueller believes Richards edited the e-mails to bolster her custody battle.

She tells People.com, "It's a shame that Denise conveniently edited my e-mail correspondence to serve her own interests.

"She would be both mortified and embarrassed if I released any one of her 40 e-mails to me. But she knows my character and humanity and knows that I would ever do such a thing.

"Denise's claims are laughable at best. She hasn't lived with Charlie for over two years. But this is a battle we will fight in court, not in the press."

Sheen and Richards divorced in 2006 and the former couple has been battling over the custody of their children ever since.

What's laughable, is Brooke thinking that her future marriage to Sheen will last. How many marriages, engagements has that dude had already? His track record speaks for itself. The last laugh will be on you Brooke. Wake up and smell the coffee.

Brooke -wake up and smell the coffee! If Charlie hasn't matured and settled down by now, he probably never will. You should probably cut your losses now or you'll regret it later.
