They keep finding ways to lose. They took a 3 run lead in the 9th and the Marlins tied it and won it in the 10th.

Looks like the Phillies will overtake them. It's too bad the Braves are still 4 1/2 games out. They'd pretty much have to run the table and get a lot of help.

The Mets had a pretty good team this year, there's just been too many injuries of late. I still think they'll hang on and win the division though. I hate to see a team stay in first place all year only to lose in the last week. . . . . unless they're from a certain city in Massachusetts ;)

No gloating here, I insinuated nothing ;)

In all honesty, I'm usually the last one to gloat or celebrate prematurely, but I do feel better than I did a few weeks ago lol

It's just a personal philosophy in my house....my husband actually. Any Boston team can be ahead 85-0, and if I say it looks like a win, he gets mad, lol. He yells at the announcers too.

It is funny, but he's serious as can be. It's rubbed off on me. Even when the Yankees were way behind earlier this season, you won't find one post where I said I felt good about it. He's got me convinced that we can jink things.

I loved listening to Phil Rizzuto call the Yankees games because like myself, he was a "worry wart" right up to the last out lol

Something abt baseball I guess. I feel that way too. I mean, my dad was the biggest Dodger fan and he always felt he had to listen or watch the game without interruption or else, the game was jinxed. I am laughing at your post because I can imagine what Lou must sound like when he is screaming at the tv.

The Mets are reeling no doubt. Their pitching staff is held together by scotch tape. lol Looks like Solomon might have to accept the fact that the 'Fighting Phills' might be headed to the post season.

Got that right the Phillies are surging. The Mets should have been in the World Series last year they lost their best chance to win a championship.

Yeah the F*cking phillies won again last night, the Mets did win so it's still a game and a half. I need a Mets win Today and Tomorrow and Two Phillies losses

But I can deal with the Phillies making the postseason if the Eagles start 0-4. So what saying is I can live with Two Mets losses and two phillies wins if the Eagles lose to the Lions

That is basically true.

I can only hope they do something special based on the fact that last year they were the one to beat and this year they are reeling.

It would be ironic and a great story if they actually turned it all around.

I would be shocked if the Manager is not fired if the Mets lose the NL east amd miss the playoffs

Be prepared to be shocked, because win or lose, Willie Randolph is going nowhere.

So if they miss the playoffs after leading the phils by 7 and a half games on 9/12.07 he still gets a paycheck?-lol

BTW: the Mets are winning 7-2 in the top of the 9th with one man on base and no outs. i expect to see atleast another run or two

The Mets just showec me they don't deserve to go to the playoffs, NO OUTS, a man on base and they come away with NOTHING??? That is sad, i just knew the score would be 9-2 before the Mets left the field. If they lose a 7-2 lead in the bottom of the ninth then that just means the Phiilies so represent the NL east not the Mets

Breaking News, I'm no longer rooting for the Phiilies to miss the Playoffs, they showed me they are hungry, determined, and consistent and they would be a better NL east representative than the Mets. Even if the Mets hold on they have no business going to the playoffs. So if the Phillies make it, they defintely earned it
