I saw an ad for Progressive I think, and someone from Progressive goes to a woman's house, and tells her that he is there for her, blah, blah, blah. Then she says, "I'm glad you're here. I have four boys, so every little thing helps. She is giggling and smiling as she says this. (The camera shows her boys laughing and running around in the background) Then she closes the door and says something like, "Who wants to play the quiet game?' And then there is a sound that sounds as is she shot one of her kids or slammed him into a wall. The guy from progressive quickly runs away after hearing this sound. Is this ad a refernce to child abuse?

Those boys were bouncing off the furniture and hitting each other with toys.. That noise was one of them breaking something or falling. As for the man? I would imagine he ran because it was a mad house and he wanted to get away as quickly as possible.
It's far from a "child abuse" reference.

I've never seen the commercial. I think it sounds more like poor parenting skills than child abuse.

I think it's a mom that is over stressed and overworked. I have a hard time dealing with one bot let alone 4. Boys are a different creature all together different from girls. My son has never sat still for more than 2 minutes at a time. He is always running, jumping and climbing. He could climb before he could crawl. He didn't start walking, he started running and he has been at it ever since.

i don't see why they would reference child abuse in an auto insurance commercial.

Not child abuse...boys being boys and a mom who's probably fed up at yelling at them. Not unlike working in an elementary school. :)

no; I don't think it's a reference to child abuse. NO WAY!

It seems I'm not the only one who thinks that was a gunshot.... About 95% of posters on another website agreed with me that that that sound sounded like a gunshot............

:faint:

Those posters must be child abusers then (or future child abusers, depending on their age).
