LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - A court commissioner has ordered Britney Spears to undergo random drug testing and hire a parenting coach to help the pop singer raise her children with ex-husband Kevin Federline, court papers showed on Tuesday.

The documents, which were posted on celebrity news site TMZ.com, result from a Monday hearing in the bitter custody battle between Spears and Federline over their two sons -- Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1.

"Based on the evidence presented, the court finds that there is habitual, frequent and continuous use of controlled substances and alcohol by the petitioner," who is Spears, Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon wrote in his ruling.

Federline had been asking for increased custody, but Gordon maintained a 50/50 joint arrangement.

Gordon ordered both Spears, 25, and Federline, 29, to complete a "parenting without conflict" program, and said each must refrain from making derogatory remarks about the other.

But he saved his most stringent requirements for Spears, who in recent months has exhibited odd behavior after completing a rehab program in March.

Spears has shaved her head bald, attacked paparazzi, fired staff, and stripped down to underwear for an impromptu ocean swim in front of photographers, among many incidents.

In July she was derided for lip-syncing songs while performing at Southern California nightclubs, and earlier this month she earned scorn at MTV's Video Music Awards dressing as a stripper and miming a new song, "Gimme More."

Gordon ordered Spears to undergo testing for drugs and alcohol twice per week on random dates and times.

She must meet with a counselor at least once a week to address parenting issues and work with a parenting coach at least eight hours a week in at least two sessions per week.

Very good judgement, this is exactly what she needs.....will it all "take"? THAT remains to be seen....good luck to her though.

I had to undergo the same thing a few years ago and it's helped me out a great deal. If it helped me, I know it could help her.

If the girl doesn't admit she has a problem, then this will do nothing for her. She needs to admit she is doing drugs and then seek help. You can't force someone to save themselves or attend rehab. Rehab can only help those who are willing and committed to make it work. Let's hope, for those kids' sake, she can admit she has a problem. Her so-called rehab stint a few months ago is not rehab. Sitting around relaxing and doing yoga is not the way to do it Britney.

Where she went, wasn't rehab, more like camp for rich and famous druggies.

True, but like Lindsay Lohan, they are afraid to tell her to get help because they don't want to lose their status as Britney's friend. They don't really care about Britney Jean Spears, they care about Britney Spears:The mega pop princess who can upgrade their lives.

Then she needs to find new friends, friends who truly care about her and her 2 young children! Brit has responsibilities and needs to finally grow up.

True but I know she has self-esteem issues and her 'friends' are probably pumping her head up with b.s like Lindsay's friends has.

When you have fame and money like Brit has, you have no "real" friends. They use you for your status, your money, your fame, etc.

I wasnt really refering to lohan shes only been a friend 5 minutes, she must have other friends that care about her, what about her sister and family. She looks so alone.

I so agree! Britney needs to take a break and go back to Kentwood for awhile where people loved her for her.

No, no, what I mean was like Lindsay, her friends are using her. I'm comparing the two.

As far as her mother and sister, she cut off her mother awhile ago.

The real problem here is, she was a 16 year old who was suddendly making more money than the Pope, and in no time at all was trying to raise children of her own, never really having learned the steps between childhood and adulthood.....its no surprise that she drove around with her kids unstrapped in the seat, shes never learned to grow up!

Agreed! Her mother most likely did not teach her right from wrong and how to grow up like a lady. This is the cause for hard partying girls ways. Their mothers didn't teach them ****!
