I really like the "Low Rider" opening. Having the cast appear to be on a trampoline is fun and unique and George's facial expressions are priceless. I crack up everytime I see Benny floating up in that lawn chair!

It is funny. I will admit, I was kinda miffed at the "Lowrider" song being the theme (funny, you won't see that song in the DVD's) simply because it seems like a cliche for a hispanic guy to have that song playing. Get what I mean?

Anyhoo, it gives the song exposure and maybe get some new fans to love the song. I have seen War in concert many times and it never fails, they play that song and it just brings everyone to their feet.

I know what you mean about the choice of song. Adding cliche upon cliche just perpetuates a stereotype. They could have used any other song as far as I am concerned. I still think the visual part is great! What song did they use on the DVD's?

Exactly! You said it well. Perpetuating a stereotype by using that song. However, it did dawn on me the other day that during the opening of George Lopez's comedy shows, he also plays that song as he comes out on stage. So, either he really really loves that song or he is doing it as a favor to the group WAR. A musical group whom I love immensely, but yet, like how you stated, it just seems like a cliche.
They didn't use a song for the DVD's. Here is a link to hear the new theme:
