I have an idea for a new feature I'd like to start. In book club fashion, it would be fun to have a thread where we discuss one episode at a time--our questions, comments, jokes, trivia info, inconsistencies noted, anything we want...Those with DVDs can even watch the episode during that period. Of course there are all the other threads but I think this would be fun. I'm going to try this, even with possible small or nonexistent response at times. I'll go in order and single out the episodes one at a time for discussion, starting the next one no sooner than a week (sometimes it might be more as I'm a library internet user). But anyway, here goes--First, I'd like to feature the SERIES PILOT.

As for me, I'd have to say that despite all the strange things you encounter in fanfictions, watching GI with these other people (with all due respect to them) is the strangest thing to me. It's more like another show to me, not GI. Also, the newer, standard song is so much better!!! What a difference. Did you also notice how the Maryann/Ginger qualities are split in different ways between the two girls on the pilot. Bunny is the sweet one but also the femme fatale, for example. Gilligan is the same, it seems, but it's wierd to see him interacting with these 3 people on the island. Anyway, that's all I have to say about this episode. Any comments from any of you about anything regarding the Pilot specifically?

Aaaaaah oooooooh!!!!!

Luvin' this idea Im!!!!

...
let me see... the pilot.

Yeah... it's pretty strange without Russell, Tina, and Dawn...
I've always been curious to how much the plot lines would differ with the original characters.
I'm really glad they changed the two girls though. I didn't like them much.

Mr. and Mrs. Howell seemed a bit stiffer, but that was probably only because it was there first go at the characters.

Gilligan and Skipper seem exactly the same. *shakes head in despair*

I guess this kind of concerns the pilot, since it was technicall the first episode...
Wouldn't it have been reeeeeallly cool if each of the castaways had little flashbacks to before they took the three hour tour, and maybe even during?
Actually, I'm writing a fanfic along those lines...

But something I've always wondered about is if the three actors who were replaced are still alive. If so, I wonder how they feel towards Russell, Tina, and Dawn, and how much they regret being replaced. Or anything, I'd like to know more abou them I suppose.

Yup.
and of course, I love the talking to the fish!

Once again, I applaud you Im for such a creative idea!!
Thanks awefully!

OH Nuts!

I thought of something else as soon as I turned off my computer last night.

Now, this is just a result of what being an obsessive G/P and MAG shipper can do to you...

Bunny (who was later replaced by MaryAnn) seemed to show some romantic interest in Gilligan.
Ginger (later to be played by Tina Louise; but at the time I think it was Kit Symthe) seemed to show some amount of romatic interest in the Professor.

Now, of course, the hinting was extremely miniscual. But... I thought I noticed something. *shrugs*
anybody else?
huh, huh?!
