LMAO! I'm too, am done with McDonald's. The food doesn't do it for me like it did when I was five. I have so many complaints with McDonald's.

*The fries are too salty
*The service is slow
*The employees suck, they either can't speak any english at all(not saying it's really bad because my grandmother's english isn't good, but don't stick the person who doesn't speak a lick of english at the front counter.) or they are the rudest 15-year old kids ever.

*They get testy when you ask for an extra packet of sweet and sour sauce.
*They ALWAYS screw up and order, and if I correct them, they get upset.

Ok, they either put too much salt on your hamburgers or they put one too many pickles in your hamburger. Which is it?

Burger King and Wendys.....BK tastes like McDs only dryer, the fries suck , the portions are small, and smell like the carboard containers// Wendys , well, their "Hot & Juicy" burgers come out "luke warm & greasy", here!

Ohhh.....Add Harveys to that list, while they have the largest patties in the bizz, they have a real "processed" taste and texture ( pre-chewed burgers? ), but the main reason I quit going there was the same reason that I used to love the place, the fries......10 years ago, they had the most delicious homestyle fries, that everyone raved about; then out of the blue, they went to fries like everyone elses, and I havent been back in almost as long.

Burger King. I use to love BK over Micky D's, now I like Micky D's better. BK's taste is not the same and the Whopper isn't good anymore. When the Whopper was served in that little box, it tasted great, but BK hasn't been the same since the mid-90s. What won me over with Micky D's is their dollar menu. I will admit, the Big Mac is also far from what it use to be. When it was served in that stirofoam container, it was good as well. I use to work there, so you have to do a rush job rather than a quality job.

Wendy's is still the best.....and the highest! (They've lost their touch, too.)

I don't know what they did with the Big Mac. That was my favorite at McDonalds for years but it started tasting more and more like an average hamburger so I stopped getting it. I get the chicken McNuggets now.

I can't believe so many people said McDonalds! I thought I was the only one. The fries have sort of hung in there over the years but that's it. They have the worst food of any fast food chain and I really feel they've been going on their name and past reputation for years now. AND...that little medium soda, the one that used to be a large size about 20 years ago? They've just raised that to $1.80 in my area. $1.80!!! Who do they think they are? Everyone else has the bigger or even the giant sodas for $1.30 to $1.70 tops. I refuse to pay it and I refuse to go there anymore!

My second choice for never going again is Long John Silvers. I don't think I've gone there once...not even once...and had the fries and the rest of the food be fresh. In every state, every time, it always tastes like it's been around since last Tuesday. How long do fries have to sit before they get chewy and rubbery?? puke:

No, thankfully the Red Barn chain died a quick natural death, many years ago; i only mentioned it as being the WORST fast-food , in history!
Interestingly enough, you still see the old distinctive RedBarn buildings being used as Real-estate offices or as used car lot offices (etc.) , now and then.

McDonald's made me sick (actually I think it was gastroenteritis, but McD's was the last thing I ate, so you know...) in November 1999, and all I've eaten there since are apple pies, shakes, a sausage biscuit, chicken fingers, and a salad I think. And other places have better chicken fingers. On the Kansas Turnpike, McD's is the ONLY thing to eat, but had I had a choice, I'd have picked something else in a heartbeat.

I think that's the only one I've written off.

I used to live off fast food. It was disgusting! Thank God I've moved beyond that time of my life! I'm more or less off the stuff. On occasion I do still get some subs, or a burger. However, places I avoid all together are below:

McDonalds I'm sure I don't need to explain the evils here. Last week when my cousin and I were on the road, she and the baby were hungry. So she stopped at McDonalds. I chose not to order anything.

Arby's: Last time I had a roast beef sandwich from Arby's, after ordering it, they told me it would be just a minute. 30 seconds later, they presented me with my order. Fast? Convenient? Good service? Hell No! That's nasty! Who knows how long that piece of **** has been sitting around, frozen or otherwise, and then they just re-heated it????
That used to be acceptable to me. But I think I have more respect for my body than that!

taco bell/taco cabana Every time I would order at either one of these establishments, I'd become ill. I don't know if it's the processed, canned beans and meat, or the over cooked rice. But I've had my fill, thank you very much!

Jack in the Box After asking for no bacon and getting it anyway, and finding some sort of animal hair in my paddy, I tossed away my final Jack in the Box meal and left thoroughly dissatisfied. The milk shake was also not up to standards. Plus, I just don't trust Jack.

In general, fast food is nothing more than a beacon of a declining culture. Very sad.

That too. Like FactoryGirl said, McDonald's does hire some very rude and uneducated people. All the nice people must go work retail.

I hear that. Yesterday my daughter wanted to go out and eat hamburgers and I was not having it. Like you said, it's been a while since I ate fast food like McD's or something like that. I would have to be really really starving or my sugar level is so low, for me to grab something like that.

I had two encounters with these people and not in a good way.

No one cooked on night, so I took the kids to McDonald's(I'm still puzzled why kids love McDonald's). Big mistake, the woman...excuse me, grown behind 16-year old was bitchy the minute she said "Welcome to McDonald's, may I take your order?". The only reason why we went inside was so my little boy can use the bathroom.... not only did this bitch mess up a simple order of two hamburger happy meals, but got an attitude with my FIVE year old daughter when all she asked was for those apple dippers instead of fries. The fiery latina side almost came out, I was really close to cursing her ass out, instead I told a manager who was equally ghetto.

Another time is when they put this one girl who couldn't speak any english(she spoke spanish) up front at NOON when most people are on their lunch break! Poor thing was getting cursed out and being called a 'dumb illegal spic', so I stood on the side and translated for her.

I know the feeling of trying to deal with rude food service people. But having worked in the food service area I also know NOT to p*ss them off. They will retaliate...in your food. :faint:  But I know what it is like to have that hot latin blood of yours that just BOILS!

Thank you so much, it tore me up how much they were giving her a hard time. Calling her names was uncalled for. She reminded me of my Mexician grandmother when she first stepped foot in this country at 19.

I had a few words with the manager, he just stood there and watched her have a hard time, and even laughed with the other workers. I caught up with her and she felt so sad, she was actually crying. So as a good citizen, I told her about a few jobs that were hiring that was Spanish speaking friendly.

It was not smart for the restaurant's management to put someone at the register who isn't fluent in English; it was not the poor girl's fault. mcdonalds- sick, disgusting and nasty food
kfc- chicken is greasy and the oil/fat that comes out of the chicken is horrible
burger king- i don't eat their food anymore
pizza hut- their food is expensive, particularly if i want just straight out pasta and pizza it costs as much as £5.00 or more, which is a rip-off

also, my brother and my sister- of whom are younger than me used to work at mcdonalds a couple of years ago and when they came back from work, their uniforms reeked of cooked burgers and fries. yikes! it took ages to get rid of the foul smell.

the problem though with fast food restaurants is the food is cheap and affordable to buy, and for the workers easy to cook- and yet they don't offer much in terms of flavour, variety and taste. not to mention they clog up your arteries and make you want to go to the lavatory.

nowadays, i either get a sandwich, pasta/fruit salad and a diet coke or opt for chinese food.

I usually check the television advertising trends of restaurants from the Parents Television Council and its allies, so my boycott list varies.

Anyway, those I boycott on a permanent basis are the following:

Arby's
Carl's Jr./Hardee's (for using the likes of Hugh Hefner, Paris Hilton, and the like in their ads puke: )
the YUM! five (KFC, Taco Bell, A&W, Long John Silver's, and Pizza Hut)
Quizno's Subs
Subway

Pretty much any restaurant that goes coast to coast and is operated by corporate cost-cutting fatcats instead of down-to-earth people that listen to the patrons is to be passed up by me!

The worse pizza, EVER; tasted, absolutely disgusting, the service was totally incompetent. The salad bar, had flies hovering around the salad dressing, etc; just, absolutely disgusting, and did I mention, that the pizza was lousy, too.
You know, we have two of them here. For some reason back in the day it wa AWESOME. One hell of a good pizza. We ate at a new one that opened up next to my daughter's work. I was so looking forward to it. Oh God, it was bad. Not what I remember. It tasted like cardboard and the toppings were not very tasty. I will stick with Toppers.

Carl's Jr. is one of the best, their burgers are so good, I really don't give a crap about some tart basically making love to a car and a water hose on T.V while eating the burger. And Hardee's, yuck!

Quizno's is the best sub place in the entire U.S! Better salads, and lots of meat unlike Subway that makes subs fit for a five year old and cost a lot of money!

Ireneparalegal, did you get that 25 cent chicken sandwich (or whatever it was) a month or so ago when they celebrated their 50th anniversary? Same chicken sandwich as usual but they were selling it at 1950's prices all day long. YUM! :D

Due to a couple of horrible bathroom-related experiences the night after eating at IHOP, on a couple of occasions, I stopped going there for a couple of years. However, I went there again a few months ago, and successfully ate without totally violating a bathroom that night.

Another time is when they put this one girl who couldn't speak any english(she spoke spanish) up front at NOON when most people are on their lunch break! Poor thing was getting cursed out and being called a 'dumb illegal spic', so I stood on the side and translated for her.

I have a real problem with customers that are that impatient. Like cursing someone out is going to do any good. It's the manager or whoever put her there who should have gotten the brunt of the anger.

I agree! What was really bad was that the manager basically laughed at her along with the employees.

What I never understood is why would managers put their brand new employees by themselves on the register during a busy hour? This is like a trend in not only in fast food places but retail and gas stations.

Arby's fries are good but the chicken sandwiches takes like..crap

Their chicken strips used to be awesome. Now they changed and they aren't so good. :(

As for Hardee's, there are only 2 left in town, and neither are anywhere near me. They had goos stuff back in the day (90s), but then they changed their menu right before they changed their image and damn they sucked.

Chik-Fila is a great place that came to our city a few months back. They have great chicken sandwiches.

Last time I went to one of those (they had one in my college's union) the chicken was abnormally greasy. The chicken was tender breast meat (unlike whatever the hell McD's chicken nuggets have in them), but it was soooo greasy.

The Arby's where my uncle and aunt lives(in Delaware). the food is really good but my uncle no longer eats fast foods, he claims that fast food and customer service has gone down the tubes in the last 20 years.

There's this one here called "Griffs" and it takes forever and the cheeseburgers are crap.

I haven't tried them, but the chicken sandwitches look good.
