The first thing that I would like to do is thank the person who posted the reply explaining to me what Hazel Shermet's part was like in "Nell goes door to door"! Now that it has been explained to me, I vaguely remember that incident. However, it has been "years" since I have seen that episode! When I saw it I had no idea who the actress was. It took me until after I had bought the first season on DVD to realize that Mrs. Larry Rhine from "The Emergency" was the same actress as Rita from "Mom's Birthday". It seems to be the trend for her to get the parts (at least on this show) of a person who humiliating things happen to! I am wondering whether she has some special knack for playing such parts. It seems that she usually ends up the butt of people's jokes! The only other show that I ever remember seeing her in was "The Facts of Life". She was in two episodes of this series. In this show, she did not nessessarily play the parts of a person who was humiliated, but she did play the parts of women with the same type of fiesty know-it-allish personalities as she did on "Gimme a Break!" I would be very interested in what other viewers think of this observation. Also, if anyone out there remembers her in anything else, I would like to hear what those parts were like. Take care!
