View Full Version : A few things about Bonnie Wilder
wiseguy182 09-12-2007, 12:29 AM Bonnie steals Lisa Penz's file, but leaves her own. This is kind of brazen, because she leaves her file for the investigator to trace it and find out that all of the info on it is false.
Bonnie makes off with about $20,000 from the department store that's featured on UM, although she hit many others. Most of it was from the vault, but she decides to go after every last dime she can get and has the cashiers bring her their tills, even taking the coin change it appears.
I just thought these 2 things were interesting, as it appears she did these things to kind of slap them in the face even after making off with all that loot.
ForeverPluto 09-12-2007, 09:36 AM Kinda strange there hasn't been any more news of this woman, no sightings, similar cases or nothing. I'm not sure if "Bonnie" is dead or locked up for another crime or what. The thing that always sticks out to me about her case is the attitude of the boss, Lisa Penz. It seemed to me she was almost dwelling on the fact that she got conned by a fat woman. I understand that she was mad but still, cons come in all shapes and sizes!!

Those are interesting points. I think the reason that "Bonnie Wilder" left her file behind was that almost everything in it was false. The private investigator couldn't find out anything about her by looking into the references and places of employment because they were all apparently made up.
Duuuuude, this segment sounds great. I've got to see it!!!!!
Todd Mueller 09-12-2007, 04:30 PM Is that true this segment was never on Lifetime? If it is true, WTF???

Yes to my knowledge it was never on Lifetime. I've came to realize that there are a lot of UM segments that have never made it to Lifetime. Some of them I have thankfully but there are still others out there I would love to get.
(Btw in case you didn't know Todd Mueller, Bonnie Wilder is the chick in my avatar.)

I love your avatar CD. It's funny, everytime I'm reading one of your posts, I start to crack up. It's like she's looking back at me watching in disapproval.

Aww, thanks! I'm thinking of making her my wallpaper on my cell phone, that way I can take Bonnie wherever I go...
RightOnDude 09-12-2007, 09:24 PM I tried to contact Lisa Penz but never got a response, anyone got any wealth they need to manage? http://summitwealthmanagement.com/our.php

Thats correct. She is still apparently a PI so I emailed her but haven't heard anything back. I'm thinking about calling her company and see if I can get some info that way.
DarkDante 09-13-2007, 11:25 AM I heard Bonnie now resides in Illinois and a good way to catch her is to stake out the next Cubs game... ;)
wiseguy182 09-13-2007, 11:55 AM hmm, I didn't happen to see her at the last Cubs game I went to. I'll have to keep an eye out next time.

unsolved88 09-14-2007, 02:10 PM I just remembered something about the re-enactment. At the end of the segment, "Bonnie" is described as having a Southern accent and yet in the re-enactment, she has none. I would have to assume that this is because the actress portraying didn't have any type of accent at all, but I'd think for the sake of accuracy, they would have at least made the actress pretend to have some kind of Southern drawl.

you're right about that. although, the actress that played Bonnie Wilder looked quite a bit like her I thought. UM did a very good job IMO in the early years of hiring actors and actresses that looked like the people they were portraying. So much so that, I may have mentioned this before - I can't remember, but most of the time I was forgetting these were re-enactments because it felt like I was watching the actual thing. UM went downhill with this in later years, and I think that's partially why I prefer the older episodes. Another example would be the actresses hired to play the Hansen twins, looked quite a bit like the real Hansen twins.
