I am just now watching it. I will be back to discuss. What I hate is that my channel guide doesn't give any info on the episode. I am totally in the dark until I start watching it.

BTW, today's episodes aired at 6pm rather than 5pm like yesterday. The next episode at 6:30 is called WORLD'S BIGGEST.

Also WGN is having a contest online beginning next week where they will show episodes at midnight (9pm for me) and they will have a pic of one of the cast members. Put the name of that cast member online and your name will be entered into a drawing for a years supply of free gas.

Ok Ruby Reborn was so damn funny. I have a feeling all the episodes are going to be hilarious. I loved the banter between Brent and his dad regarding his wanting to rent a videotape. Brent treated him like he didn't know him. And then when Brent rambled on abt he wasn't even sure what the house number was, "What is it 608 or is it 806?" Then the scene quickly shows us the house number and it is 717...

Brent resembles a friend of my boyfriend. I will now think of Brent when I see my boyfriend's friend.

I am now watching WORLD'S BIGGEST. Hank just noticed Brent at the town meeting much to Brent's chagrin.

And let me say, when they spit everytime they mention that town name, what is it? That cracks me up.

Just like when we were six!"

And let me say, when they spit everytime they mention that town name, what is it? That cracks me up.
The town is "Woolerton"...Dog River's arch rival......the funny part is, the people of Woolerton have NO idea that the neighbouring town hates them! :p

Hmm heres a Q Ive been wondering, what do you all think of the beautiful Gabrielle Miller as Lacey? Irene, now that youve seen her on film, do you still see a resemblance between her, and yourself?

Brent telling his dad abt the membership card... OMG that was so damn funny.

I loved how after all that was done and said, it was stated how Brett's dad DIDN'T OWN A VCR! Then, he gets the JAWS videotape and never watches it, though he talks abt it like he did in fact watch it. The best part was at the end when he yells out to Emma how she must not have hooked up the VCR correctly because he is expecting to see the shark and the dinosaur scene. :brent

As I see Lacey, she is gorgeous. I can't say beyond that if I resemble her or not. But I asked my daughter what she thought and of course my daughter said "Mom, you are the pretty one." Awwwwww....so sweet. What a damn liar I got there.

Your daughter is a born politician Irene! ;)

Oh THAT membership card.....I was wondering whatRob was talking about! :p

I think you do resemble Lacey, but that doesnt mean shes your twin.....cousin maybe? ;)
Isnt Hank Yarbo a hoot? :p

Its too bad you didnt get to see Ruby Reborn in the proper order but, isnt that simply one of the BEST pilot shows youve EVER seen? The cast has the same kind of chemistry as MASH , especially Brent and Lacey.
Im surprised you havent mentioned Wanda yet, id think her sarcastic wit would really be your cup of tea ;)
Oh and, what do you think of that 40s diner/gas station set? (Hard to believe that it was built in an empty corn field in 2 weeks, back in 2003, isnt it? :) )

Wanda is a hoot. I do love her wit and sarcasm. It seems just abt the whole town is sarcastic in some fashion. But I love it! The more sarcasm the better. I am still fresh to the show, so far Brent has my eye, he just seems to crack me up with practically anything he says or does. Just like his dad.

Emma today picked up and threw that large brick...THAT WAS FUNNY *irene slamming her fist on the table*

The set is just beautiful and quaint. It really is nice. It seem so clean and new. So I guess the two weeks it took to make it does show.

Really? i thought they did a pretty good job making it look 60 years old...with updates, of course.......believe it of not, the first few weeks of filming, before anyone had heard of the show, visitors to Rouleau were stopping at the dummy pumps, expecting to get served! ( and some drove off angry when they were told it was just a set ) Now, the town of Rouleau and the set are frequently visited by tour-bus loads of fans! :)
ps. All the food and such in the convenience store is REAL , not props...as are the fries and burgers served in the Ruby ( the propman is apparently an excellent cook! )

I was really cracking up when they kept talking abt the World's Biggest Hoe. And then Officer Davis said, "World's Biggest Gardening Implement". And when he said World's Biggest Prostitute and that old lady slapped him and called him young, he was so damn happy.

heheheheehehe Thats about the closest to a show full of sex jokes youll see on Corner Gas until season 2 when Brett gets a security cam and everyone wants to be on TV! ( and even then, its pretty mild )
The old Lady is Mrs Jensen..the Mayors Gramma ....I just love that scene where he yells " Shes my Gramma, MY GRANMA!!!!" And he looks like hes about to blow a vein in his head

Thats great cause I know some of the Gassers here at SO have never seen the first ep! (Thx to WGN's "lottery" type scheduling)
I love this ep so much, THIS is the way to begin a series.....with a true beginning!
