Okay, so I finally found the station in my area showing USA MISSING. I must say, I was so disappointed. It reminded me of an early AMW. Just a flash of a picture and a very brief explanation of what happened.
The music was awful..."Missing...Still missing..." I twisted my hubby's arm into watching it with me just for him to make fun of the theme song!

Anyone else slightly disappointed, or did I just catch it on a bad night?

Well MISSING can't hold a candle to UM. It is a good show because it does reunite and locate people. It just gives facts without any dramatic effect that UM was so good at. I do think its good that they feature a lot of missing kids who are runaways as well as a lot of children abducted in custody disputes as there aren't many shows out there (if any) that give them any attention.

You're right about that, CD. I was hoping for some re-enactments!

It's an o.k. show. Just little "bulletins" really. Great for North Americans generally short attention span!:p

You're right about the music, it cracks me up.

Another thing...the host of the show nods his head WAY too much when he speaks. Very annoying.

I've been watching Missing for a few years now. It has always been the same style. Except for the stupid "Missing, they're still missing" vocals in the music. So are the recaps at the end. That just appeared some time this year.

It's not what you expected but remember that it is a low budget show. And it's better than nothing! The more exposure this show gets, the more people learn about missing persons.

I like that it's simple. I like that they offer age progressed photos of children and adults. That they describe where the person might be and weather or not it was a family or non-family abduction. Once in a while with certain cases they will offer a small, less than 10 second interview of a relative, investigator, friends etc, that is helping out with the case.

Watch it long enough and you'll see that the episodes repeat often. At times there will be new faces added to the show. I also like the family safety tips. I make my niece and nephew watch them to get them informed.

Just keep watching. You'll never know when you might see a face you recognize.
