As a long-time Sanford & Son fan I'm really angry because TV Land is cutting so many scenes out. To show you how politicially correct things are the episodes where Fred or Esther uses the N word TV Land and other channels have cut it out or used a voice over. Remember when Lamont goes to traffic court and Fred (defending him) asking the cop what does he have against black people. The cop says "nothing". Fred asks him where the white people are. And then he says "There's enough ni**ers in here to make a Tarzan movie". The taped audience erupts in laughter and I do too. This is a case of good humor, nothing racist about it. Today they've totally cut that scene out. Another time when Big Monty Grip shows up & says Lamont is his son, Esther confronts him and says (to Grip) "What did you say n**ger?"

This was a black sitcom which made fun of whites (I didn't mind), Jews (Goldstein), Puerto Ricans (Julio) & other blacks (Esther amongst others). I just hate how PC has gotten. Although anyone can slander a Christian without anything being said.

And remember in a very early episode produced by Aaron Ruben in which Lamont was to be married, but at the last minute the bride chickened out,and they cut out,I don't know WHY,the scene which shows Fred leaving the church, thanking the reverend for a wonderful service.Another one from the second season I think,Fred met Donna's new patient-beau,and when they're dancing ,Lamont and Fred look out the kitchen door,Lamont says to Fred:"Look what they're doing".And Fred replies "Yeah. They're dippin'and everything!!"Why TVLand cut that scene out(while other stations that carried the series in the past, have left it in)is anybody's guess.

Are you talking about when Fred said to Lamont, "Bunch of jive n*iggas?" Because that was definitely deleted by TV Land.

I understand our frustration but the show can be purchased online, all 6 season uncut and that way you can see everything. So you really don't need TV land anymore

Other deleted scenes were:
1) When Fred, Rollo, and Lamont got arrested for taking part in a pornographic movie, in the jail scene, Fred wanted a light for his cigarette. One of the pornographic movie producers in the next cell offerred Fred a light and felt his fingers, Fred did not like the guy advances and dropped the cigarrete.

2) When Fred and 2 of his friends started a escort service, Fred displayed a advertisement of himself with a built body. Lamont asked him about the photo and it being a fake, Fred asked him when was the last time Lamont seen himnaked and Lamont said this morning, Fred said the did 20 pushouts. That seen is totally deleted from TVLand's episode.

There are lots of missing scenes in the TVLand versions of the show. I'll bet most eps were edited not only for brevity, but to remove bawdy scenes. Sometimes they cut out an important scene that is integral to the story though.

For example, first season, in The Copper Caper ep. TVland cuts out the entire scene of Fred and Lamont going to the diner to meet Otto. Naturally Otto is late which explains how he was able to steal their copper pipes, by getting them out of the house for a while.
