Jane Dulo (Grandma) looks so different on Gimme A Break than she did 9 years later on one of the last episodes of The Golden Girls. She looked chubbier, and her hair is not grey! Was that a wig she was wearing on GAB? She looked so much older on GAB! Her skin, her face, her body. On GG she looked younger but chubby and her hair was reddish and short. Is that her real hair, or was that a wig too?

I actually saw Jane Dulo in an episode of Barney Miller, and in that episode she had short, reddish hair. In real life, Jane Dulo was only two years older than Dolph Sweet. So, I'm almost certain that she wore a grey wig on GAB, and they added more makeup and stuff to make her appear much older in order to make her believable as the Chief's mother. As much as I loved Jane Dulo when she was on GAB, on the show, I thought that she still looked more like the Chief's older sister, than his mother. I also did not think that there was much substance to her character, which is a possible reason for why they got rid of her character after Season 2 (just a guess).

Journey to the Center of Attention which is her last credited role. I remember her best as a regular on Sha Na Na.

She was also on an episode of Alice, in late 77 or early 78, as a customer. The episode was from the 2nd season, "Alice by Moonlight"

I just saw her in an early episode of I Dream of Jeannie as a nurse. Her role was very funny. She's in the episode "My Master, the Doctor". :)
