For those of you who (like me) are devoted to America's Most Wanted, the show starts its 21st season tonight at 9 pm (Eastern Time). I plan to tune in. I hope you will, too. :)

View Full Version : AMW's 21st season begins tonight Kane 09-08-2007, 02:27 PM For those of you who (like me) are devoted to America's Most Wanted, the show starts its 21st season tonight at 9 pm (Eastern Time). I plan to tune in. I hope you will, too. :) Big3sCompanyFan 10-05-2007, 12:27 PM AMW probably will ALWAYS be on. Even 100 years from now!! As long as the crime rate is pretty high in America it will be on the air in some form. It still has some very interesting case and has that "live" feel which UM never had. It can still be a stimulating show but they recently seemed to focus too much on child cases while most crime victims are adults. I will continue to watch for the most interesting/intriguing segments. Kane 10-05-2007, 01:22 PM AMW probably will ALWAYS be on. Even 100 years from now!! I recall one of the AMW correspondents (Tom Morris) voicing that belief. Obviously (and sadly), however, the show's current staff won't be around then. But it wouldn't be a surprise if AMW is still on the air a century from now. In any event, anti-crime shows like AMW will always be needed, and never let anyone tell you otherwise. It still has some very interesting case and has that "live" feel which UM never had. That's one of the things that helps separate the two shows (even though there was usually a "live" feel to the UM updates). Indeed, UM and AMW are often mistaken for each other. But if they had started to look too much like each other, it would have added to the confusion. It all boils down to this: Same ideas, different presentations. catlover79 10-05-2007, 03:03 PM This is one of the most important shows in TV history. I have a lot of respect for John Walsh - he used the tragedy in his life to help others. Big3sCompanyFan 10-10-2007, 01:48 PM Actually, there should be a seperate section just for AMW like we have a huge section for UM. With a seperate section for AMW then people can discuss seperate cases in different threads that are on the show each week. At some point it would be nice if the admin of this board did that. wiseguy182 10-11-2007, 05:12 AM It still has some very interesting case and has that "live" feel which UM never had. UM has done at least one live show. Big3sCompanyFan 10-19-2007, 02:34 AM UM has done at least one live show. When you said that I thought of Patrick Duffy (of Dallas fame) hosting that live 1 hour show on the hunt for the Green River Killer. I think it was in the late 80s. Duffy kept saying we're going to get you over and over. Well, nothing came out of all the tips they got but they did get the Green River Killer almost 20 years later!! |
