Hi, "Andy fans." Great show; I loved it but haven't seen it in awhile. I had a question about Goober. Did he ever have any dates, romantic interests, "liking" a girl? (This, by the way is not a sexual preference question). How did he act with, talk about girls he dated or liked? Also, how would you describe his personality. Was he kind of like Gomer Pyle or different in some ways. Please help if you can! Thanks!

....was basically "a litttle kid in a big body". True, he had girlfriends, but he always seemed to be reading a comic book at Wally's Filling Station. He had a "grade school mentality" about what went on in Mayberry and the world in particular....VERY eager to talk about things. His brother Gomer was "naive", but always seemed to know a little more than Goober did. Both had good hearts....

Goober had a few dates. Lydia Crosswaithe was around for one episode. Goober submitted an application to a computer dating service and ended up dating the service director Dr. Edith Gibson for one episode. Best known is Flora Malherbe, a waitress at the diner. She was around for two or three episodes as I recall. Goober was NOT famous for his dates. Fans mostly think of him as a goofy forever bachelor.

I really liked that episode...Goober was a goof but such a good guy and I loved that she decided to see him again at the end of that episode. :)
