We all know that Gilligan, with his "deciding" vote, was compelled to pick Gladys the ape as Miss Castaway, which solved the whole uncomfortable problem. However, if we rewind the whole thing to the start, get some "mindreading" seeds and consider each of the men's most probable choice for Miss Castaway, who do you think REALLY won the contest, Lovey, Ginger or Maryann?

If this turns into one of those nasty evil debates concerning the women of the island...

I'll...

To clarify, I'm not talking about whom WE like the most among the women, but whom the MEN, if they were being totally honest, would each have voted for and what the final result would have been. In other words, who was the Skipper's real choice? The Professors? Who was the real Miss Castaway? We'll give Gladys something, of course,
for "entering the race."

The skipper would vote for Ginger

The professor would vote for Mary Ann

Mr.Howell would vote for Ginger

Gilligan would vote for Mary Ann

I guess,it would a tie between Ginger and Mary Ann?

It would be up to Gladys to pick the winner :)

Techniquelly,it would be Mary Ann who would be the winner if Gladys wasn't there.

Just by Gilligan's expression during the contest,Mary Ann was the only girl who got a nice smile and he had a wow expression when he first saw her at the evening dress's moment and he liked her dance until her foot got stuck in the glue:) Ginger embarrased Gilligan by showing her leg with Mrs.Howell,he was thinking hardly probably about what Mr.Howell said to him earlier or with Gilligan we never know may be it was about what he was going to eat for dinner:)

That sounds about right. And no one would vote for poor Mrs. Howell. lol!
mmm...
i don't know if I agree with you guys on this one.

While Mr. Howell certainly has his faults, I believe he would vote for his wife...
if not out of love, certainly out of fear of the rath he would endure from Mrs. Howell.

Im said that the guys would have to be the most honest possible. He voted for his wife at the contest,it was the most honorable thing to do and didn't want his wife to feel bad.Deep inside,I'm pretty sure that he would have voted for Ginger.Remember,on the ep:The Secret Admirer. He told his wife,it would think that Ginger would have been the one with a lot of secret admirers. They had a argument about it.He always flirts with Ginger and he even told that he was going to help her boost her carrer at Hollywood.Ginger would been his real choice.

OK--I'll play now, myself. Thirston: LOVEY--his choice seems sincere. Skipper: GINGER, of course. Gilligan: Maryann would be his choice as a woman and, even if he were choosing the best "beauty contest" contestant, I'd still have to say MARYANN for him--she got his swimsuit vote and I agree with Celine--he liked her talent performance up to the glue. All the women messed up the speech part. Professor: Here is the real deciding vote. It seems as if he chose Maryann out of being a gentleman and also getting into one of his argumentative modes. It is within the realm of possibility that he admired Maryann's personality qualities as the best for a beauty pageant winner. But, if I had to bet my quarter--I'd have to go with GINGER as his real vote. She is not only his choice as a woman but, although he appreciates Maryann's good personality qualities, he seems to like Ginger's personality better. So, my guess is that GINGER is the men's true Miss Castaway.

P.S. Interestingly, even though Maryann wins the polls among the public, on the island, aside from Miss Castaway, it is Ginger who is the men's favorite
(all would vote for Ginger in the GN/M poll except for Gilligan!)

I think you said that all very nicely and I agree with everything you say 100%.

The thought that Gilligan would vote for anyone besides MaryAnn is absolutely insane. (Mrs. Howell was to proper for him. Ginger scared him.)

Skipper is pretty obvious.

And once again, I refuse to believe that Mr. Howell would vote for anyone but Lovey. (nuff said)

And the Professor as the deciding vote...

oh dear, does my username give any hint as to why I agree with you so much Im????
