View Full Version : Any Friends reunion would be Ross-less
Brian Damage 09-07-2007, 12:30 AM DAVID Schwimmer shattered a million TV dreams last night when he ruled out a return of the cult American sitcom Friends.
The actor, in London for the premiere of the movie Run Fat Boy Run which he directed, said: “If I was asked to do it, I’d say ‘No’. It was ten years ago — and it’s time to move on.”
Schwimmer, 40, who played geeky scientist Ross, added: “There is no reunion. We are not getting back together.
“I have not been approached, none of the producers has been approached.”
Run Fat Boy Run star Thandie Newton, 34, last night looked a picture of innocence at the star-studded screening.
But earlier the British actress had shown a devilish side by swapping co-star Simon Pegg’s mineral water for vodka.
The star balked as he took a swig during an interview.

ChanandMon 09-07-2007, 02:59 PM I would actually prefer a reunion without Ross. He was always my least favorite and I don't want to see any R/R stuff.
waichingliu81 09-08-2007, 01:28 PM i've never been a huge friends fan, but i suppose i wouldn't mind watching the reunion... but only if it didn't have both ross AND rachel in it. god they were so over rated
catlover79 09-08-2007, 11:23 PM I know I'm heartbroken. Like there was ever going to be a reunion anyway - unless, of course, TPTB make it worth their while ($$$$)...
Superbatboy 09-17-2007, 12:20 AM It's way too early for a Friends reunion anyway. It shouldn't happen anytime before 2014. I do hope they at least do some type of retrospective with all of them sitting around commentating that would be fun.

what or who is TPTB?
waichingliu81 09-27-2007, 04:17 PM what or who is TPTB?
i think that what monika had meant by those initials was 'the powers that be'
catlover79 09-27-2007, 06:04 PM That's exactly right: The Powers That Be.
Not that there was ever going to be a reunion. But if there had, it wouldnt be the same if they werent all there.
thecroc 03-05-2008, 08:17 AM i thought there was a rumour as the last episode was being filmed that they were going to record a 'one year later' follow up. Am starting to think i dreamt that :-/
friendsfan77 03-28-2008, 01:12 AM I definitely wouldn't mind seeing Rachel, I love that character, but I don't think I'd be that disappointed if Ross wasn't apart of it. But personally, I can't see a reunion going on without him since they seem to have the one for all and all for one ideal. I do think it's too early for a reunion though, I want one, but not now.
Brian Damage 03-31-2008, 08:25 PM David Schwimmer would turn down the opportunity to bring back his hit show Friends because he is convinced it ended the right way. Schwimmer is still best known for his role as Ross Gellar - four years after "Friends" ended - but he has no desire to play the paleontologist ever again.
Speaking while promoting his movie directorial debut, Run Fatboy Run, Schwimmer says, "I don't think I would (play Ross again). The way it ended felt so right. I don't want to mess with it."

Dean Winchester 03-31-2008, 09:33 PM funny that Schwimmer is the one who least wants a reunion, when he's had the least success outside of the show. Aniston has had a few successful movies, and Cox seems to be doing fine on Dirt, but Schwimmer and Leblanc are on about the same level now
MrRetro_08 04-01-2008, 05:28 PM What about Matt Perry?. I haven't seen him in anything since Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip went off air
tiff7 04-03-2008, 02:47 PM he's gonna be in a new movie or 2. if David doesn't wanna do a reunion, I'm ok w/everyone else in the movie, but I want it when everyone is ready. I miss the gang though! Studio 60 is such a fabulous show & I have it on my iPod.

Elizabeth Eden 04-13-2008, 02:14 AM I love Friends, liked all the characters, but I wouldn't want a 'reunion'. It's just not necessary. We have the re runs to enjoy. Actually I wouldn't mind a show where they all sat around a table together and did a 'look back' episode, like Fran Drescher did with the cast of The Nanny. I'd like that better than a 'Where are they now' episode that shows the characters in their new lives, or whatever. As for the cast members who we haven't seen in awhile, it's not like they need to work another day in their life again, they would have made a fortune already. They don't need to be 'famous' forever.
