I need some help identifying this episode. Its one of those feel good stories that I dont have many details on so I cant do a search.

A woman from the United States, she may have been a school teacher, makes periodic visits to, I believe Mexico, and befriends an up and coming restraunteur. I dont know his name but he wants to open a place called "Such is Life"?? The women, a kind and generous type, decides to help.

After one of her visits, she leaves her friend a card containing the inscription, "Make your dream happen" or something to that effect and a large chunk of cash. She then disappears and is never heard from again.

The beneficiary of her generosity is now a successful restaurant owner and wants very much to thank his enigmatic friend. But as I mentioned, she has disappeared and he has no idea where she is.

Does anyone remember the details of this one? Names and the air date? I would also like to know if there was ever an update and if this story was ever replayed on Lifetime.

Thanks,
Christopher

Wow... I gotta be honest and say this one doesn't even sound familiar. It's probably just me, but I just don't have a clue.

Sounds interesting enough, though.

While I'll leave the details of the people's names and the airdate of the show to those who will actually, you know, KNOW it... I can tell you that the restaurant owner and the benefactor were reunited and I think UM even taped some of their reunion and aired it on an update. I was happy to see the two meet each other again-- it was such a cool thing for that woman to do.

You're pretty dead on with your description of the segment, Chris. I don't remember what the woman did for a living, but I do know that she did meet the young restaurant owner and he took a liking to her expression "Such is life." I want to say that she left him something like $500 with a note that said "Make "Such is Life" happen." And then he did. :)

Sorry I can't be more specific about the names and airdates. Oh, well. Such is life. :D

Thanks CRicci, I didnt know there was an update. I would def. like to see it.

Regarding the update, do you remember if the benefactor give a reason for her disappearance? I can understand why some good samaritans avoid recognition since it is not the reason for giving. But wouldnt she be curious to know what happened to her friend?

Thanks again

Chris

She asked for her name not to be revealed on the air.
