For some reason, I find it really hard to tell the difference between the 60's and the 70's. For those of you who were actually around that 20-year span, did it seem like one 20 year span instead of two different decades?:confused:

The late 60s from about 1967 till about 1977 seemed like one decade, to me...oh wait, it was! ;) :lol:

Seriously though.....the clothes and music from 67 to 77 were very similar, along with the politics, so, they did seem to blend in as one.

I actually LOVE the clothing from the 1970s; it was definitely far more causual, and less contrived than the fashion of the 1960s; there is a huge difference in the two decades when it comes to style; women's fasion, especially...
Well, i was talking clothes from a male point of view, Tara.......I have old pics of me in striped bell bottoms, bow ties and leisure suits from that era that no one will EVER see , outside my immediate family.....if them! :lol: :crazy:

There were some differences.
There was no disco music in the '60s (a definite plus for me).
Then there was that ridiculous '70s fashion, like those wide ties, unlike the 1960s and earlier narrow ties.

But there were some similarities... there was no "new" Coke, cars still looked like cars (well, most of them, anyway) and TV was worth watching.

I didn't live through the 70s, but I like the decade much better (fashion, music, etc).

With the exception of the Beatles living their glory days in the 60's, of course :D

Oh, I love 1970s music. The Bee Gees were one of my favourite groups. Although they weren't just a 70s group - they started releasing songs in 1963 when they were still just kids and continued to do so through the 80s, 90s and early part of this decade. They're some of the nicest people in the business. I've very proud to be a fan of them. :)

I think men's fashion did not start to look completely obnoxious till the late 1960s, with nehru jackets, the flared, ourtrageously designed pants, the love beads, etc.; it was also during that time, that men started to wear their hair longer.
I agree. Right around the late '60s, with the bell-bottoms, flashy pants, long hair (for men), etc.

We had good rock music like CCR, The Doobies, The Eagles, Three Dog Night, Wings, Chicago, just to mention a few. I consider the 70's to be the best decade for music! As for disco, I love The BeeGees!:p

Exactly!!! I hear that. We had singers and BANDS!!!! Where are all the bands now? I love groups that actually played instruments...give me some brass sections, horn sections, gimme CCR, I loved me my Doobie Brothers, the Eagles were the bomb, there was a variety of music and you can't deny the Bee Gees either. I didn't consider them a disco group whatsoever. Then you had Linda Ronstadt, Fleetwood Mac, KC & The Sunshine Band, Earth Wind & Fire, we had good ol' rock and roll bands who knew hot to rock. BOSTON ANYONE???? PETER FRAMPTON!!?? Best sellling live album of all time! I had it. I have it on CD now. Peter rocked!!!!:notworthy :guitar: :rock:
