Legendary actor Clark Gable was secretly bisexual, according to a new biography. David Bret's book Clark Gable: Tormented Star claims the legendary womanizer had relationships with openly gay men and was "gay for pay" in his early career.
It adds that, as a child, Gable was branded a "sissy" by his father, which prompted him to adopt a macho image and denounce homosexuality.
The five-times-married star died in 1960 at the age of 59.

Didn't Hollywood also dictate how a star should be in his private life so as not to "ruin the image" that Hollywood was creating? I am sure if he was gay or bisexual, the studios had more of a part to play in this than his father, if he was in fact hiding his sexuality.

This really pisses me off, why after a star is dead after 40 years this crap comes out? How do they know, the writer probably wasn't even born yet. I hope he doesn't make a penny off this garbage, Clark Gable isn't even around to defend himself.

I agree and I've never heard this before. As far as I've ever heard Carole Lombard was the love of his life and he never got over losing her.

I don't believe this one for a second. He loved the ladies, and Carole Lombard was the love of his life.
