I've always loved Charlotte the most. She's adorable.

I liked Charlotte a lot too. She's a close second. Miranda and Carrie a VERY DISTANT 3rd and 4th resp.

I give it to Carrie. I liked them all, but she was sort of the glue that held them together. I loved the Mr. Big storyline too.

Carrie was definitely the FOCAL point of the show. But what I didn't like about the character was I thought she was kind of vapid. She was clearly over the top with her obsession about Manolo's; if she were wealthy I'd understand it, or if she had 5-6 pairs. But there was definite evidence it interferred with her overall finances. Also, I thought she treated many men on the show like sh*t (Aidan for example). Glad Carrie got a post-it breakup from Berger (what goes around comes around). Also for someone who was a sex-columnist she didn't seem very credible to me--like for example, when she meets the politician who's into "aquatics". Of course I could understand an average person being grossed out, but, for God's sake, she's a sex columnist. Her response was more reactionary than Charlotte's would have been. For all her huffing and puffing, Carrie, in the final anaysis, is pretty vanilla.

Samantha and Charlotte were much more real. And there was A VERY SWEET SIDE to both these gals that you frequently saw. Such behavior from Carrie or Miranda was more measured and less frequent.

What turned me off a little about Miranda was she was so hard-assed, more so than I thought she had to be, even given her profession and the pressures it could bring. And in an early episode I thought she did something very mean and f--d up to a Dr. she was dating--she goes through his personal drawers, finds fetishistic materials, and brings up the topic in a highly insensitive way that embarrases (and humilitates?) him. The guy obviously had the stuff hidden because he was ashamed, self-conscious or just felt it was tacky to have such materials out in the open. Probably the meanest thing I saw one of the 4 gals do on the show--and I've watched all 94 episodes.

And yes, the character of Mr. Big was a great one superbly portrayed by Chris Noth; my take on Mr. Big was he was too sophisticated for Carrie. It was clearly a carnal thing; she was not in his league intellectually.

it would be a toss-up between Samantha and Miranda, I love them both for different reasons. Miranda was the "every woman" of the show, and I always found her to be the most complex character as we saw the layers into her, I also thought Cynthia was always brilliant. Samantha was great for being so over-the-top, and Kim proved you could be sexy even after menopause.

Mr. Big, who got the name "Big" because he is.......big down there. His twin brother Mike Logan needs to arrest Big for having unnatural copulation with a horse. Yuck.
