Tell me your opinions on The Halloween Remake.

Also if you will tell me how much nudity is in the film and if there is any unnecessary language.

It was good, it had a story it wasn't just gore. There is a couple of nude scenes, one rape scene which was kind of explicit. The movie is rated R, not for kids.

They shouldnt of put a rape scene in it, micheal myres is not the rapist, its two rednecks.

I give it a 9 out of 10 :) I took away a number because I wish they could've given more of an explanation as to why Michael started killing people (and at such a young age too!) It was more like, 'Oh, this kid made fun of him and he went crazy.'

This movie did explain more about Michael's childhood than the original, though...I liked that.

Actually, the "rape scene" was removed from the final version. I seen it on Friday at the theater and there was no redneck rape scene. He escapes in an entirely different way, during a transport. What you have seen is the workprint, a rough cut of the film that is floating around the net. Also from what I've read some music, murder scenes and the ending are different. Check it out at the theater, it's really intense on the big screen.

Overall, I liked it. It was pretty good. I'm just such a big fan of the original that it's hard to not compare the two. It's Zombie's Halloween though, not Carpenter's. For me, the beginning was the most brutal. Seeing Michael as a kid was really neat. He was a deranged psychopath, but also acted like a kid. It was weird seeing those two identities clash. I liked the scene when Michael flips out at the sanitarian with the sirens. I really felt sorry for his Mom. Sherri Moon did a good job portraying her. Oh, and the Joe Grizzly scene was hilarious.

I just saw the Halloween remake at the movies. It was good although I could have done without some of the cussing and nudity but I guess that you need that to tell the story of where Michael Meyers came from and how hard he had it as a kid. The stepdaddy was the worst. It wouldn't surprise me if he was molesting Michael as a kid. Very scary to me.

I thought it was good, not great. I liked the first half, but the ending dragged on. The last 20 minutes should have been cut out, or Rob should have used those minutes more wisely. He did so well at developing the characters in the beginning, but failed at doing so in the second half. The three girls in particular could have used a lot more development. Laurie was such a staple in the original, but in this one she was just like any other character. However, I do think it left potential for another film. I just hope it's done a bit better.

Yes the movie was very good but the first 10 minutes or so were not so good alot of unnecessary lanuage in my opinion but after that it got real good.

I wish there were a rating somewhere in between.

I did think Malcolm Mcdowell did a respectable job as Loomis though. He wasn't on par with Donald Pleasence, but honestly noone would be.

He still did well.

I'm actually quite sick of Hollywood's remake trend and all The Horror favorites of my childhood being brought back. Not to mention all The Asian Horror that I love, getting inferior American remakes.

I guess I'm a hypocrite since I went to see this though... go figure.

Gore is not a foundation of a good horror movie. Nor is excessive profanity and nudity.

I do not wish to offend the people who enjoyed this movie. They may have a different definition of what horror/ slasher movies are supposed to be like. Different strokes for different folks.

I agree. There really was an excessive amount of profanity. It got to a point where it was just annoying.

I thought the movie was "okay." It wasn't anything special. A lot of the writing was bland and predictable. The movie could have been better. But it also could have beene worse. Going in, I was expecting it to be horrid, but it wasn't THAT bad.

thankfully this movie seemed to be rightfully put in it's place like Psycho 1998, no Hills Have Eyes/The Fog scenario where younger moviegoers forget the originals and think of the remakes only. I was worried that the remake would do with The Hills Have Eyes and Texas Chainsaw Massacre did with the originals

I totally agree! I left the theater after 30 minutes. The pofanity was terrible. I plan to rent the movie when it comes out so I can skip those parts. It's just no comparison to the original.
