View Full Version : Seth, The Jaguars have named their starting QB and that guy is....................... TVFactFan 08-31-2007, 06:22 PM DAVID GARRAD!!!. Hey, Garrad was able to come to philly and beat the Eagles so I don't have a problem with that move. Leftwich is inaccurate and Garrad is the guy who should start Chelsea 08-31-2007, 08:47 PM They spent all offseason saying "Leftwich will start. Leftwich will start" Starter? Garrard. Not a surprise. Three things entered into my mind when I saw this post (I hadn't heard yet, I was writing the review for 30 Rock Season 1 until just a few minutes ago): My first thought: AHAHAHAHAHAAHA My second Thought: well, at least it's not Tim Couch My third thought: AHAHAHAHAHA Brian Damage 08-31-2007, 08:50 PM What a disappointment Byron Leftwich has been. PYLW 08-31-2007, 08:54 PM My second Thought: well, at least it's not Tim Couch Which by the way, is the one positive thing that you can think of for ANY bad football signing... Three things entered into my mind when I saw this post (I hadn't heard yet, I was writing the review for 30 Rock Season 1 until just a few minutes ago): My first thought: AHAHAHAHAHAAHA My second Thought: well, at least it's not Tim Couch My third thought: AHAHAHAHAHA It's a real shame that the Jaguars have given up on Byron Leftwich. I was really looking forward for another Jaguars-Jets game and seeing him and fellow Marshall alum Chad Pennington go at it again. I wonder if other NFL teams are in need of a QB. What about the Redskins? Can they bring Byron Leftwich home to Washington, D.C.? What about the Vikings-they can't rely on veteran Brad Johnson, forever. I don't think the Lions have room for him, unless they wanted to eventually supplant Jon Kitna. Can the Texans really count on Matt Schaub to quarterback the team? Forget about Oakland-that's no place for him. All right, last chance, the Falcons-they need a QB, badly, especially with Michael Vick suspended indefinitely, and at the same time, Joey Harrington isn't exactly a solution to their immediate problems. Arthur Blank, if you're keeping up on what's going on in the NFL right now, since Michael Vick is out and Joey Harrington isn't your immediate solution, this is the time to go get Byron Leftwich, since the Jaguars are putting him on the trading block. Chelsea 08-31-2007, 09:30 PM ....It's possible that Atlanta is exactly the right setup for Harrington. We'll have to see. This'll definitely be his last big chance though, I feel, otherwise barring a miracle he'll be a backup for the rest of his career. As far as the Texans - they need a QB. I hope, for Leftwich's sake, it's not him. David Carr wass a GOOD, solid, QB. It's the rest of the team around him that blowed. And that's why he lead in sacks. Maybe his was a mercy trade  (Not Drafting Vince Young was the biggest mistake, FWIW) I think Leftwich would be a great match for the Redskins. They don't have a solid long-term QB, and Leftwich isn't exactly old. And DC is Leftwich's home town to boot. TVFactFan 08-31-2007, 09:31 PM What a disappointment Byron Leftwich has been. If you can come here and beat the Beagles, then you are cool with me for life-lol My Boy, Garrad-lol TVFactFan 08-31-2007, 09:33 PM ....It's possible that Atlanta is exactly the right setup for Harrington. We'll have to see. This'll definitely be his last big chance though, I feel, otherwise barring a miracle he'll be a backup for the rest of his career. Trading David Carr was the 2nd stupidest thing the Houston Texans have done in the franchise's history. Carr is a GOOD, solid, QB. It's the rest of the team around him that blowed. Maybe it was a mercy trade  (Not Drafting Vince Young was the biggest mistake, FWIW) I think Leftwich would be a great match for the Redskins. Chelsea 08-31-2007, 09:35 PM Where did you see great performances by Carr? In College? I'm saying that Carr didn't get to live up to his full potential due to the fact that he had absolutely zero help on the offense. The Texans have NO O-Line, the WR core actually makes the Jaguars look deep at the position. The running game is decent, but that alone won't win games (Being a Jags fan has taught me that well) And now with the one quality player on the team gone, I think that even Jacksonville might beat Houston this year. I think Matt Schaub will do god things in Houston Chelsea 08-31-2007, 09:39 PM Wait a second. Dammit, I got Schaub confused with someone else. This might work for Houston after all. Great, now the Jags are 0-2 out of the gate. ---- I think the Jaguars have three benchmarks for the season: Can they beat Houston? Can they beat other teams that have losing records? Can they make it to the playoffs? They've got "beat teams with winning records" down to a science. Now they just need to work on not choking against the B-squad teams, and maybe they'll finally graduate from being a "yeah, but..." team. theshark8777 08-31-2007, 09:50 PM Two Words: Tim Couch  Dutabi84 08-31-2007, 10:11 PM What about the Vikings-they can't rely on veteran Brad Johnson, forever. Especially since he's with the Cowboys now. :p But I do like the idea of them trying to bring Leftwich in. I'm not sure what they'd have to give up, but Tarvaris Jackson hasn't looked like he's really ready to take over as a starter at this point. He just confirmed he can't be taken seriously as a NFL fan anytime he still thought brad johnson was still the Vikings starter-lol Leftwich is a BAD QB |
