I am guessing that most of you have heard about the comedian Owen Wilson in the news lately. I can't help but think it is Freddie all over again. We need to pray for these stars who think they can solve their problems with drugs and pray they get the real help they need for things like depression. Some of the commentators on the news keep saying that they are big stars, what do they have to be depressed about? That is sooooo WRONG. Stars are people too and depression is a reality for a large segment of our population, including stars. I hope Owen gets the help he needs before it is too late. Whether you like or don't like a particular star, no one should have to bear the burden of depression. I think it is especially hard on stars who suffer, cause their whole lives are always under the microscope of the press and public opinion. When I was going through my bouts with this disease, I was glad I could do it in the privacy of my own family. I can't imagine what it must be like for them, always in the critical public eye...:(

Yes I agree. I seen it on the news today and was wondering myself why and imediately thought of Freddie. I do hope Owen can find some kind of help and is successful in dealing with it.

I had always thought of Owen Wilson as a laid-back, carefree kind of guy. Freddie Prinze died a couple of years before I was born but I know what a sad story his is. It also shows that some of the most seriously depressed people are the best at hiding it. I hope and pray that Mr. Wilson has a complete recovery - plus plenty of rest, peace, quiet and privacy.

I can so relate as I have depression due to my diabetes. It's not easy but I survive day by day with Gods help. I was sure sorry to hear about him & thought of Freddie too. I read somewhere he was depressed because of having broken up with Goldie Hawns daughter & then she started dating someone else. You are so right that the stars are people too & can get depressed too like the rest of us. I wish him well...

I agree with you all. No one should be critical of these stars who suffer from depression....walk a mile in their shoes. I did think of Freddie all week and remembered how he was so depressed over the thought of losing his son and his marriage falling apart. I hope Owen seeks the help he needs. Like Freddie, he is very talented and loved by his fans.

I feel badly about this news too depression is a terrible thing to go through it is not something that you can just get over or cheer up about. i hope everything works out for him and others, stars or not, who deal with it.
