Also, the 1985-88 ABC Cop Series "Spenser: for Hire," starring the late Robert Urich was also another show you can add to the Boston list. You can see shots from Boston in the opening credits of that show.

if you're talking about the Bay Area that is "San Francisco?"

if so, then "Full House" and "The Streets of San Francisco" take place there, too. As well as this one very short-lived sitcom that aired on ABC in the early to mid-'90s starring Margaret Cho also took place there.

If it's Oakland, CA, then you can also add:

"Hangin' With Mr. Cooper" to the list of shows that took place in Oakland, CA.

Others:

Besides "Alice," what other shows were settled in Arizona? I was originally born in Arizona, but now reside in Illinois.

Illinois Sitcoms:

Webster
Punky Brewster
Married with Children
Hogan Family, The
Perfect Strangers
Good Times
Family Matters
Roseanne
Ferris Bueller's Day Off (short-lived TV adaption of the movie)

Illinois non-Sitcoms:

Chicago Hope
Hill Street Blues? (it was said that this show was situated in the Midwest, so I might be in Illinois)

Now that I think of it I remember seeing the Charles River in Banacek.

Like me, Something Wilder is Bay State through and through but not from Beantown. It was set in the beautiful Berkshires - Norman Rockwell's Stockbridge.

To the North - Those from Vermont have Newhart.

Ditto!
Back in the 70's there was a failed series supposedly set in Flint, Mi. (I live 10 miles west of Flint) It was so lame! The series revolved around a steel plant. Which is ridiculous. No steel plants in Flint! It should have been an auto plant, DUH! and in an outdoor shot of a kid riding his bicycle around his neighborhood there was a mountain in the distance! The Flint area is basically flat. The only "mountain" in a 20 mile radius is a landfill. I can't remember the name of the series but I believe that Elinor Donahue played the mother. Does anybody remember this fiasco?:D

Since I'm from Canada, there have been a couple of shows set in my home province of Prince Edward Island. 'Road to Avonlea' (or 'Avonlea' to those who got the airings on Disney Channel) and 'Emily of New Moon'. 'Avonlea' was filmed in Ontario, while 'Emily' was filmed in Prince Edward Island (not far from where I live). 'Emily' starred Susan Clark (best known to you 'Webster' fans as Katherine), John Neville (from 'Grand'), Sheila McCarthy (from 'Little Mosque on the Prairie'), and Linda Thorsen (from 'The Avengers').

Get Smart was also set in D.C., b/c the opening credits from the final season definitely showed shots of various D.C. landmarks.

"That's My Mama!" was also a D.C. based show, b/c Clifton Davis always talked about his father's barber shop was in D.C. in the opening credits of S1.

Scarecrow and Mrs. King was also another D.C. show.

The F.B.I. (1965-74 ABC Quinn Martin drama) was also D.C.
