Smartboy 08-29-2007, 09:08 PM I would just like to point out how "much" I have in common with both the starter of this thread and the one and only respondee! I will start by writing about the man who started this thread and work my way down. To start with, he is from Canada. The day that I joined this online community was the "day" that I returned from a cruise to Canada! It was a "lot" of fun! On top of this, I have a sister-in-law who is originally from Canada.
I will now move to the woman who responded to the first person's "great" message! She is from Wisconsin. My late father worked lived and worked in Wisconsin for a year. He was a social worker who took a postion there to pay back a scholership to Columbia University. By the way, the city where he lived was Madison.
I would now to return to the man who posted and comment on what he said about his crush on Diane. I have "no" problem understanding this! I thought that she had a rather nice figure and "lovely" blond hair! On top of this, one thing that I have been attracted to ever since I was twelve was females who carry pretty purses. I always looked at a girl's purse as something that made her attire different from a boys and attractive to him. I thought that the character of Diane had a "marvelous" collection of purses! During her five-year run, she most have carried over a "hundred" different ladies bags and pouches! She went through about three in each episode. I thought that she looked "lovely" with a purse in her hand, over her shoulder or under her arm! Wow! If anyone would like to read more about my love of purses, they can go to the pages of this site dedicated to "Fired Up", "Empty Nest" or "Harper Valley P.T.A."
In conclustion, I would like to say one more nice thing about Shelly Long. I thought that she did a "great" job of playing Mrs. Brady in "both" of the feature films!
Megara 08-31-2007, 10:18 AM Shelly Long Is a very talented actress in my poinion. I have always tried to take her acting skills and use them in my own preformances.
Hppy "Belated" Birthday Shelly!

Smartboy 09-01-2007, 11:49 PM I would like to respond to the sixteen year old girl who posted the second to last message. She says that she likes to use the skills that she learned from Shelly Long in her own performances. I am wondering what types of performances she has been in. If she is reading this, I hope that she will post another message and let me know. My guess would by that she is in high school. Might she be in a theatre group there? Might she have been in anything that I might have seen?

I should Doubt it. Ahah, You see, I played, (How Ironic it is,) Desdemona in my grade 10 high school play for Othello. It was my idea, of course, I had seen this play in a local Theater and Loved it. In grade 8, I belive, I watched a Cheers Episode and Shelly Long, (While she was playing Diane) Played Desdemona Is a small skit. At that time I had my mind set on playing a role in that play.
In high school, grade ten, I made the drama easily again, but The Drama Coach had yet to chose a play. He said that wanted something more difficulte. He said That he would consulte with use before choseing the final Play and afterwards he would make the Finaly Cuts.
He was most interested with doing Romeo and Juliett, or a Midsummers Night Dream and such, Only Much shorter than the real play. I finally spoke up and Said Othello, He said no, But I continued to pester him. Later on he said that if I could come up with a shorter script, He will rearange it ans see what the rest of the cast thinks of it.
The final cuts came and I was casted Desdemona. I know that it's not much but, durning the strngulation scean, most of what I did refelcted on how Shelly Long had acted on Cheers, I loved how she fought back for a moment and He was she studdered more, as if She knew what was going to happen.
I am Curently in the auditions for Hamlet at my schoool. :) Wish me Luck.

I will have to say that the girl who posted this message sounds like a "lovely" person! I wish her the best of luck in terms of getting a part in Hamlet! If acting is what she wants to do with her life, I hope that she is a hugh success. However, if the theatre is just a hobby then I hope that she gets all that she ever dreamed of in whatever other career she chooses!
This being said, being that this person is a female, she probably looks at someone like Shelly Long in an "entirely" different light than a guy like me or a man like the one who started this thread! She is probably not able to understand quite what it is like to have a crush on someone like her. When I first responded to this thread, I mentioned what a "lovely" collection of purses Daine had and how beautiful she looked carrying them! I am now going to a thread called "Woody Buys a Trophy". I am telling the reading this because there is an episode that pertains to that thread that also relates to a purse that Daine was carrying. Until next time folk!
