If it's selling well, that would likely hasten the release of the second season. It would be nice to know the specific number of DVD sales, but even better to know how those sales measure up with other sitcom releases.

Not sure if this helps but on Amazon.com Sales Rank, Benson is ranked #5,020.

The first month it seemed to be going pretty strong but now sales are starting to taper off a little. I don't know the overall sales #'s (or how those #'s compare to Sony's target sales) but my impression is that it has done quite well, especially for a show that was on the shelves for a greater part of the 90s and this decade as well.

I sure hope sales and interest are strong enough to keep it going to Season 2 and beyond. (And for what it's worth, I personally think Sony is obligated now since they chose to include, as part of Robert Guillaume's video introduction, a statement by him to "pick up Season 2 and so forth"--I'm sure they wouldn't want to make a fool out of him and make themselves look bad in the process! ;) )

That's great news if they're sold out. I don't even see it in some stores but I don't know if that means they're sold out or maybe they don't have it in stock at all. :confused:

It looks like it's doing a lot better than some of Sonys other stuff that came out at about the same time like One Day At A Time and Silver Spoons. It has also already out sold Growing Pains Season one and it's been out for almost two years.

That's great news. Sony should be impressed then, especially considering they haven't even really advertised it very well.

I smell Season 2 coming.....:)
