I never bothered to get the season 9 boxed sets because it focuses mostly on the Wilder and Carter families and not on the Ingalls. But I am wondering if there are any compelling episodes on season 9? I do remember the whole Albert Drug addiction episode but not much else since I was quite young when I saw season 9.

There are a few - Nellie (Alison Arngrim) makes a visit and meets her terror of an adopted sister, Nancy (Allison Balson). Another notable episode is when Laura and Almanzo lose their newborn baby son - and Laura blames Doc Baker. Towards the end of the season, Willie Oleson even gets married!!

Things seemed much lighter during this season. It was not like the earlier seasons in some ways. Things seemed a bit happier although there was still drama.

I actually remember nancy, she was nellie on steroids. They both had those blonde locks. The baby's death is vaguely familiar. I plan to watch all the seasons gradually. As to not get burned out on it. :turkey:

I never really watch "A New Beginning" for some reason. Whenever I get a look at the opening and see that boquet of flowers, I change the channel. I might give it a chance whenever Hallmark's afternoon run gets there. The morning run is about to go back to 1974.

I like the episode with Albert on drugs...and Willie and Rachel's wedding...and the wild boy is beyond hilarious, but Victor French gives his best performance on the show in that two-parter.

Season 9 is my least favorite season of LHOP. I just don't like the Carters
as much as the Ingallses. I did like when the father stood up to that bully
of a father of Sarah's. My fav episode this season is when Willie gets
married. I LOVE it when he stands up to Harriet!
