Mary-Kate Olsen decided to quit New York University because she didn't feel safe among her fellow students. The 21-year-old joined NYU with her twin Ashley in September 2004, but dropped out in October 2005 because some of the students in her classes were selling anecdotes to tabloid newspapers.
And Olsen claims some students were even getting course credits for their undercover exposes.
She tells website NYMag.com, "They'd have internships at the weeklies. Learning is not fun if you're not safe."

That's too bad. You want to think that you have a sense of peace somewhere you go. If what she is saying is true, then they will get what is coming to them.

Olsen is right. There was this article in JANE magazine a few years ago (I think around when they started at NYU - so, late 04/early 05) where someone followed around one of the twins all day, and the person mentioned getting credit for it at the end of the article.
Really quite sleazy, if you ask me.

This is some bogus crap. For the students that caused trouble for Mary-Kate, watch out, because payback is a mother smucker.

I'm surprised this is going on, actually... New York University is one hell of a tough school to get into. Mary-Kate and Ashley really lucked out being able to get into NYU. One would think that if you're going to a very prestigious school such as NYU, they would make it a point to respect the gals' wishes of privacy. Not let them get used for extra credit and such... that's just not right.
