LOVE the box art! I'm really excited that this is coming since I haven't bought any of the individual seasons. Unfortunately for fans who have supported the season sets there will be a bonus disc included. This is getting way too common now a days: seasons are released then a complete set comes out with special packaging and extras. Since this comes out about 1.5 months after season 9 they could have at least included the bonus disc on the season 9 set.

I am glad I didn't buy any of these seasons. I will be picking up the complete set. I love the box. Too many times we get burned if we buy individual seasons. The complete sets usually have new extras and they are cheaper also. If the studios keep doing this then they will see lower sales of individual seasons. The loyal fans who buy season sets always get screwed and it is their buying seasons as they are released that make it possible for the whole series to be released. The studios should reward the loyal fans by letting them send in proofs of purchase of all sets and then sending them the extras for free.

According to Home Theater Forum the bonus disc includes:

-Series Retrospective
-Thanks to the Fans
-200th Episode Celebration
-The Writers of The King of Queens
-Character Profiles

While it does sound like a nice helping of bonus features I was hoping for some bloopers. I wonder if they will fix the aspect ratio problem. Apparently there were quite a few seasons that were widescreen but were presented full screen on the DVD.

As an owner of seasons 1-8 (individual), let me say that I don't mind at all. I feel I have got more than my money's worth. I have practically burned a hole in each dvd watching each ep at least 3 times!!!! I'll try to sell them as soon as I can in order to put that money towards the series release!!! Besides, they couldn't release the series till it ended.

they should do what friends did and sell the box seperately for the people who bought each box as they came out

I might be alone on this but am I the only one who hates the look of the boxset?

Just received mine this month and was disappointed some seasons weren't released in widescreen. The TV station here is showing them in widescreen so it becomes very frustrating. They're showing them at 7:00 pm so a little censorship goes on. So I figure a little off the sides is better than having edited episodes.
Some examples of season 5. (showing at the moment)
Jung Frankenstein: Doug rolling off Carrie is shortened to just her smiling.
Driving Reign: Danny tapping the Coke can and saying a 'naughty' word.
Clothes Encounter: Doug rolling on top of Carrie in the tag is shortenend to Doug just walking to the bed.
Dog Shelter: At the dinner table, Spence's mother saying SOB is cut and Arthur saying the words "on your back" suggesting how Denise performs at the bowling alley is cut as well which without the words makes that sequence hardly worth the guffaws on the soundtrack.
At least seasons 7, 8 and 9 are presented in widescreen.

I never watched this show in its original run except the final two episodes, but I have seen it on TBS. Well at least the version shown on TBS. Are the DVD's individually or box set edited? I really enjoyed what I have seen on TBS but hate to spend my money on something that I can record on TV. I made the mistake of getting season 1 Cosby and it was the edited version and I felt jipped cause I could have just recorded it for free.
