No !!!! Don't write a story where Mrs.G gets killed ! I noticed you started another topic saying you wanted to write a fanfiction story where someone gets killed. Why ????

i DO NOT think you should! mrs. gaRRett was probally the most important character. Her character started THE FACTS OF LIFE!!! (from diff'rent strokes)

I think you should. Even though Mrs. G rules I think that she can't live forever. I mean the only fact of life they ALL haven't dealed with is death of someone close to you(Besides Nat). You can always somehow turn it into a happy ending like she comes back as a guardian angel or something.

not to start another war but whats wrong with that,its fan fiction meaning fiction its not real,and any way in the reunion movie the might kill off Jo and she is a main part of the facts of life,So why are you making such a big deal over fan fiction.

This is a somewhat liberal, political science major speaking just to warn you:
1st amendment strictly prohibits the limiting of one's free speech as long as it does not threaten another person. If someone wants to write a fanfic involving the death of a main character whether that is Mrs. G or Jo, and stays true to the way the characters were originally written by the show's writers go ahead. If someone does not want to see a character killed then you have the right to not read that fanfic. No one is forcing you to read fanfics, but it is wrong and against another person's constitutional rights to say they can't write something. It really infuriates me when people start dictating what other people can say, do, or in this case write, especially in this type of forum.

I agree. As long as it is true to the show you should be able to write about anything you want. Even it is about the death of one of the main characters. After all death is a Fact of Life.

In case u guys hadn't noticed, this is a really old post, and no one has really been considering it 4 a while. But, I'm always glad to have an old post revived, and I WOULD like to see a fanfic involving death, since it is a major part in life, and we'll all have to deal with it. Since it's all such a big issue, I'll volunteer to write a story about how Jo has to deal with the death of Blair, if anyone wants me too. But I think someone should show initiative and do it, not just talk about it. I mean, no one can kick you off the board if you write a story concerning death (unless it's like... you get the pic.) because it's a free country. There are enough people out there to get a varied response, so most likely not everyone will hate the story, but be prepared for some people hating it, too. I think that a fanfic about death will start a ball rolling, and get more people writing fanfics, since it will open up a new world of ideas for us to experiment with. Thank you for listening to all my blabbing!

I would read it if you write it.I once read a fanfic about Jo's death and it was really, really good. It would be very interesting to see how Jo if that same thing happened to her (I mean if blair died). I know that such fic can arise serious discussions but I think it would be very interesting at the same time. Besides death IS part of life, so why shouldn't we write about a character's death. As long as it stays true to the show we should be able to write about it.

I would definitely read it if you wrote it. I wouldn't write one myself, only because I just don't do death. It's not my thing, but I'd be very interested in reading it. Don't let anyone talk you out of doing something you really want to do. But don't do it just to say you did it, do it because you want to and you think you could do a good job with it.

Okay, I'll write it! But it may take a while, cuz I'm writing another about... Well, I'm not telling yet. It would most likely be contraversial, and kind of sensitive, but I think it's pretty good. It's based on some of the local news.
