Princess Diana Rest in Peace....:( catlover79 08-24-2007, 04:45 PM I had just started my senior year of high school, and the day before the tragedy occured, I had my wisdom teeth taken out. So when the news broke, I was in the living room, on the couch, watching TV (COPS & America's Most Wanted) and utterly miserable. I was still in a lot of pain and nauseous from the medication. I was trying to eat pudding when the program was interrupted by a news bulletin. I remember saying a prayer for Diana before I went to sleep (at that point she was still in critical condition). The next day I woke up to find out the terrible news. :rip: Diana, you are still missed and have never been forgotten. My thoughts and prayers go out to William, Harry and her other loved ones as the anniversary approaches. PZelda 08-24-2007, 04:50 PM Ten years, in the greater scheme of things, is a very short time. I hope she's at peace. You're absolutely right. Ten years ago isn't that long ago, once you hit your twenties. I hope she's at peace, as well. I had just turned 12 and just started junior high when that happened. I don't remember where I was when Di got into that car accident and then died, but I vividly remember watching her funeral on TV... I was staying with a (now-ex) friend, and I had gotten up early that morning. So I watched the services on TV with her mother. That was soooooo sad... I actually shed tears. I actually got to travel to England in early 2004... We stayed in London the whole time. One evening, we went shopping at Harrods (a very famous and extremely expensive mall in London... I remember seeing a TINY wallet there for £77, which worked out to $150USD(!)). At one point during the shopping trip, I needed to use the restroom... so we went down to the basement, and I saw this very nice memorial for Princess Di... I took pics too, so I'll post them in a minute. PZelda 08-24-2007, 05:05 PM Here it is... They had a fiberglass(?) pyramid with a hourglass and a ring in it. I took a pic of just the sign that was in front of the glass too, but I can't read it too well. livsforluv 08-24-2007, 05:07 PM i can't believe its been 10 years either! time goes by so fast. i'm planning on watching the lifetime movie about it on sat. night. i saw the previews and it looks good! its on at 9, she was sooo pretty and she did so much for less fortunate people, she should be honored and remembered for the beautiful woman she was on the inside and out!:) i think the name of the movie is "the murder of princess diana" catlover79 08-24-2007, 05:09 PM ^ Jennifer Morrison (House) has a role in the movie as a reporter. Chocoholic 08-26-2007, 03:24 PM My dog died the same week as Diana. I can't believe it's been 10 years. I remember when he was a puppy. He'd be almost 20 now. freshprinceofLA 08-26-2007, 09:49 PM Where does the time go?????? Times were so much different (even though I was 6 at the time). I remember still even though I was little at the time everyone talking about Princess Diana. I could understand how sad it was even though I was 6. R.I.P. PRINCESS DIANA :( coffield3 08-27-2007, 02:45 PM Gee thats gone fast! God bless Diana x ;) treky 08-28-2007, 01:33 AM to this day; I STILL can't understand why some people were so upset at that; even CRYING; for petes sake!!!! phoebe7165 08-28-2007, 01:45 AM to this day; I STILL can't understand why some people were so upset at that; even CRYING; for petes sake!!!! What 'people' are you talking about? The paparrazzi?!! Because she was their 'golden goose'!! Coffee Girl 08-28-2007, 04:52 AM I was still in school. I was about fourteen. It was a really big deal when she died...my grandpa found out before we did and telephoned us at like, six in the morning on a Sunday to spread the news. I was shocked when I turned on the TV and it was really true. Diana was so classy. The work she did was so inspiring. I do, however, think the mass hysteria that surrounds her and her death is over the top and that she should be truly laid to rest. She's still in the media so much here I almost forget she's dead sometimes. |
