called "Food Fighters"? There were five on the green team and five on the black team. Here's the characters:
The Kitchen Commandos wore black boots, green clothes, and carried red weapons.
Burgerdier General, a hamburger
Major Munch, a doughnut (available with chocolate glaze or red glaze)
Lieutenant Legg, a chicken drumstick
Sergeant Scoop, an ice cream cone (available as chocolate ice cream or sherbet)
Private Pizza, a slice of pepperoni pizza
The Combat Carton, an egg carton with a ketchup bottle cannon on the top
The Fry Chopper, a frying pan helicopter with spatula blades
The Refrigerator Play set, the Kitchen Commandos' base
The Refrigerator Rejects wore brown boots, black clothes, and carried blue weapons.
Mean Wiener, a hotdog
Chip the Ripper, a chocolate chip cookie (also available as a macadamia cookie)
Short Stack, a stack of pancakes (available with maple syrup or purple syrup)
Taco Terror, a taco
Fat Frenchy, a carton of french fries
The BBQ Bomber, a grill armed with a spatula catapult
**********************************************************************
I LOVED these. They came out in 1988 and apparently didn't sell that well because they only made the one set and quit. However, I had all the figures, and only one vechile, the BBQ Bomber, plus a lunchbox with their picture on it.
I was looking through my old toys the other day and found four of the Food Fighters. It looks like the Kitchen Commandos won, because the four I found were all from that team.
I miss these toys and would buy them again if I could. Just for nostalgic purposes. And for one major toyland battle!
