I don’t know exactly what to attribute it to, but I ran around a good bit one day this week, worked, did errands, ran to a wedding at night, and maybe didn’t eat right..maybe didn’t dress warmly enough ./ . anyway, I got more and more tired, then when I finally got home and into bed, could not stop chattering/shaking for hours!
I put on a ton of blankets and such – what SHOULD I have done?

Hmm...That's a good question. You could be shaking because of low blood sugar. That happens to me sometimes. I'll have orange juice or a small piece of candy to eat and it gradually goes away.
If it's because you're cold, then try some hot tea. I find that takes the chill off and keeps me warm for a few hours.
I hope this helped. If you are still shaking then you should probably see your doctor.

If it is a fever, take some tylenol and drink lots of fluids.

I'm sorry to hear you're not feeling well. If it's a cold, you know the drill...rest, aspirin and plenty of fluids. Summer colds are awful.

It sounds like low blood sugar (aka hypoglycemia), which I've battled myself from time to time. I feel cold and shaky all over, and usually get cold sweats. I always try to have candy drops in my purse and in my desk drawer at work to fight the effects. It helps - usually I feel back to normal within a few minutes.
Whatever it is, take care of yourself! Feel better soon!!

I noticed you are from Brooklyn. Didn't NYC get hit with a "cold wave," of sorts? I remember hearing Rush Limbaugh (or was it Sean Hannity?) say on his show it got as low as 57 degrees Fahrenheit there. Can you say "global cooling"?

perhaps the sudden cold wave did not help.
