Laura always hung around with boys. Maybe it was because she was a tomboy. The girlfriends she had tended to be one-episode-wonders (Olga, Ginny, Anna, Amelia).

Her main pals were Carl, Andy and Albert. Her crushes were Jason, Johnny Johnson, Jimmy Hill, Harry Henderson and of course, Manly. She had several one-episode-wonder friends that were boys also (Jonah, Jordan, Dylan, Daniel).

Mary was prettier, smarter and more feminine, but Half-Pint was the one who had it goin' on! :winkgrin

The real Laura had lots of school friends: the little boys all liked her, but mainly she had several close girlfriends. A girl named Ida Brown was her closest friend - her father was the preacher who married Laura and Manly. Ida herself was a witness at the wedding. The real life Laura loved animals, nature, running footraces and playing baseball but she was not nearly as tomboyish as the show made her out to be. It's fun to compare the reality with the fiction.
