View Full Version : The Information I found out about the TV land Programming Staff is UNBELEIVABLE
TVFactFan 08-23-2007, 01:04 PM found out from the the link on the tvland board that The head of TV land programming is a baby boomer along with those in management positions who has been there since the Network started in 1996. Also he stated that half of the staff personnel in the TV land programming department are baby boomers and after finding this out i can no longer complain about the westerns and all the other odd programming. So there you have it folks, tv land programming staff is airing what they want to see and not trying to please all age groups.

Well he does have a family to feed-lol
OH Nuts! 09-23-2007, 10:49 PM Even though I am a baby boomer, phooey on TV Land for not reaching out to all demographics. Another reason I don't have cable.

I agree.
bencasey 09-23-2007, 11:32 PM I'm a baby boomer. So, where are the shows I want to see? They run the same **** that's aired over and over for the last 40 years. Where are all of the great fifties and sixties shows that haven't run a million times. And I couldn't care less about the seventies garbage they run.
ekkostar 09-24-2007, 09:43 AM I thought this was going to have a great twist like "The TV Land Team is the same team running VH1 Classic". Now that I'd believe.

So, we've fianlly found out the awful truth-LOL
Seriously, they need to get a new head of programming at that network. It's pretty obvious they're airing what they want to, seeing how the same shows are always on the same times of the day. It's good to see someone is getting to see the shows they want at a decent time-LOL
Ireneparalegal 09-24-2007, 06:59 PM Well, if YOU were the head of a classic tv channel, it makes sense you would put the shows on that YOU want to watch or what you think your fellow age group would want to watch.
I know if I was in charge, I would be putting on different shows for every half-hour and get rid of Bonanza and Gunsmoke. That is how I would do it.
I am sure we all would have different ways of handling the schedule.
Adamantium 09-24-2007, 08:04 PM I am sure we all would have different ways of handling the schedule.
If I was in charge of TV Land, I'd show only programming from the 1950s, 60s and 70s. Not only shows I like, but certainly from the era I like.
I understand it's not as easy as just picking any ol' show and airing it. I wish it was, however.
And for the record, all the "Baby Boomers" I know long for the oldies to be played again. Whenever I tell them about TV Land's new scheduling, by adding Extreme Makeove: Home Edition, Just Shoot Me, Scrubs and all those reality shows, they get a little ticked.
