This is to finally close a karma-filled chapter on an NFL story in our region of Ohio, Indiana, Michigan and western Pennsylvania, especially with the 2007-08 season drawing near. What is your take on this story: Which of these two scenarios do you think was the ultimate insult to the 2006 Bengals after all of their distracting player arrests?

1. Being knocked out of playoff contention by the Steelers at home in the regular season finale on New Year's Eve(3 game-losing streak).

2. Having to watch from home as the Colts advance to and eventually win Super Bowl XLI on national television.

The 2007-08 season hasn't yet started, but this is a topic before we close the chapter on this story from the last season, and since this wasn't discussed before, I welcome your thoughts.

I say neither; the Steelers and the Colts happen to be two of my favorite teams. Having said this, I like the Bengals too and admire how they have come back!

I dunno - I don't follow the Bengals (unless they are playing the Browns).

Nothing wrong with that! The fact is after the Colts won Super Bowl XLI, both the Browns and Lions got busy reloading and retooling their rosters in hopes of having better results in the upcoming season. We know the Colts are a well-coached team and the Steelers, we expect them to rebound as well, as long as the fans give Mike Tomlin a chance. The Bengals, in the meantime, still have plenty to learn about staying out of trouble with the law. They clearly weren't ready for the playoff spotlight last season, especially with all the legal distractions some of the players brought on themselves, because they didn't properly police themselves, if you know what I mean. The Steelers took a step back, because of injuries, but with Mike Tomlin at the helm, yes, they're going in a different direction, but Ben Roethlisberger will nonetheless be ready.
