View Full Version : Which John Ritter Role Do You Prefer Jack Tripper Or Paul Hennessy USATVFAN 08-21-2007, 10:49 PM Which Johb Ritter Role Do You Prefer Jack Tripper Or Paul Hennessy? I Prefer Jack Tripper. Mr. Television 08-21-2007, 10:51 PM It's no contest. Jack Tripper was the best role he ever played and I liked his other roles too. Adamantium 08-21-2007, 10:56 PM Well Jack Tripper is a legendary sitcom character. Paul Hennessey is not. However, I love both roles. This would be easier if it was between John Hartman (from Hearts Afire) and Paul Hennessey (8 Simple Rules). I'm voting for Jack, I just wanted it known that I'm a fan of 8 Simple Rules. catlover79 08-22-2007, 12:58 AM Jack Tripper is one of the most iconic characters in sitcom history, plus John Ritter played the character for almost a decade. He only played Paul Hennessy a fraction of that time - though of course, that couldn't be helped. I do have a feeling that had John Ritter lived, 8 Simple Rules would still be on the air today - and thriving. Scoobiedoo30 08-22-2007, 01:18 AM John Ritter icecream 08-22-2007, 03:11 AM no contest, Paul Hennessy tanquant 08-22-2007, 11:27 AM Without a doubt Jack Tripper. That was his best role ever! Janice 08-22-2007, 02:19 PM Jack Tripper. One of the best characters in television history, in my opinion. freshprinceofLA 08-22-2007, 03:52 PM By far Jack Tripper. John unfortunantly died too early to tell if Paul Hennessy was a great character. Adamantium 08-22-2007, 04:34 PM I do have a feeling that had John Ritter lived, 8 Simple Rules would still be on the air today - and thriving. I have no doubt that it would still be on today. I'm assuming they would have kept it on Tuesdays, rather than move it to Fridays. Watching the DVD for season 1, I realized how great the show was and how much I miss it. USATVFAN 08-22-2007, 04:53 PM and when you talk John Ritter Tv Roles People Are most Likely To Mention Jack Tripper Or three's Company. if You Mention 8 Simple Rules characters they will say John Ritter. what iam trying to say is 8 simple Rules Is know as John Ritter played the dad and his Final Tv Role And Three's Company is Know for Jack Tripper Played By John Ritter Classicshowsgurl15 08-22-2007, 05:02 PM Jack Tripper. Scoobiedoo30 08-23-2007, 11:42 AM yes He was Funnie as Jack Tripper I Love John Ritter 08-23-2007, 04:04 PM Jack Tripper, hands down. John Ritter will always be remembered for his role of Jack Tripper. Buffyboy323 08-24-2007, 03:59 AM I agree with everything Adam said...Both were GREAT characters....But I`ll have to go with Jack Tripper on this one. John Ritter was a flawless actor. AB 08-24-2007, 03:22 PM Jack Tripper, for me too. Dude111 05-05-2019, 03:04 AM Threes company :) SitcomsHeydayfan 05-05-2019, 09:07 AM I'm shocked this question was even asked. Jack Tripper is known WORLDWIDE as one of the funniest sitcom characters EVER! It's NO contest! tvfan25 05-05-2019, 11:52 AM Definitely Jack Tripper. I still watch Three's Company when it's on. 8 Simple Rules was not one of my favorite shows. mandyrenee 05-05-2019, 01:51 PM I also liked John Ritter as "Harry Hooperman". Even though the show "Hooperman" was short lived I'm a little surprised that his character from that show was not included in this poll. DJM77 05-05-2019, 06:27 PM I also liked John Ritter as "Harry Hooperman". Even though the show "Hooperman" was short lived I'm a little surprised that his character from that show was not included in this poll. If the poll is gonna include his Hooperman character then it might as well include his Hearts Afire character too. SitcomsHeydayfan 05-05-2019, 07:49 PM If the poll is gonna include his Hooperman character then it might as well include his Hearts Afire character too. Neither of which should even be MENTIONED in the same sentence as Jack Tripper who was even the Queen of comedy Lucille Ball's favorite character! Heenan Fan 05-05-2019, 11:14 PM Zipper Screwy Wabbit 05-06-2019, 01:05 AM Roy Knable. Especially during the brief segment where he found himself inside Jack, Janet and Chrissy's apartment. AMackII 05-06-2019, 04:18 AM Jack Tripper, his character on Threes Company was successfully iconic MA 05-06-2019, 05:35 AM Jack Tripper SitcomsHeydayfan 05-06-2019, 09:15 AM Zipper LOL..Bart Furley (Hamilton Camp) called Jack "Zipper" and other funny names! Fleet 05-06-2019, 05:29 PM Jack Tripper. One of the best characters in television history, in my opinion. Yes, I think he was the main reason for the success of Three's Company. The other cast members were very good but I think John held the show together and was many times the focal point. Heenan Fan 05-06-2019, 06:44 PM LOL..Bart Furley (Hamilton Camp) called Jack "Zipper" and other funny names! Yep. So did Deane Travers and Mr. Angelino. SitcomsHeydayfan 05-06-2019, 07:02 PM Yes, I think he was the main reason for the success of Three's Company. The other cast members were very good but I think John held the show together and was many times the focal point. There would've been NO There's Company without John Ritter. It's not nothing to do with him being a man. It's because he was BY FAR the funniest! SitcomsHeydayfan 05-06-2019, 07:14 PM Jack Tripper. One of the best characters in television history, in my opinion. Without a doubt. What character in sitcom HISTORY is funnier than Jack Tripper?? NO ONE. Not even Lucille Ball and I bet Lucy herself would've admitted that. For the life of me I'll NEVER understand why people say Seinfeld is such a great show. I can watch an entire episode and MAYBE barely laugh once or twice. Yet with Jack Tripper's antics in Three's Company you're practically rolling on the floor as you burst out laughing! Dude111 05-17-2019, 01:39 PM Jack Tripper, his character on Threes Company was successfully iconicWouldnt it be funny if his name was really "Jack tripper" for real :D Heidi Dawn 05-18-2019, 04:59 PM John Ritter was a talented actor, it didn't matter if he was doing comedy or drama. He was one actor that I followed the career of - Hooperman, Hearts Afire, 8 Simple Rules, I watched those shows. As for character, Jack Tripper all the way! Ohio8 05-18-2019, 06:00 PM Jack Tripper. |
