Which Johb Ritter Role Do You Prefer Jack Tripper Or Paul Hennessy?
I Prefer Jack Tripper.

It's no contest. Jack Tripper was the best role he ever played and I liked his other roles too.

Well Jack Tripper is a legendary sitcom character. Paul Hennessey is not. However, I love both roles. This would be easier if it was between John Hartman (from Hearts Afire) and Paul Hennessey (8 Simple Rules).

I'm voting for Jack, I just wanted it known that I'm a fan of 8 Simple Rules.

Jack Tripper is one of the most iconic characters in sitcom history, plus John Ritter played the character for almost a decade. He only played Paul Hennessy a fraction of that time - though of course, that couldn't be helped. I do have a feeling that had John Ritter lived, 8 Simple Rules would still be on the air today - and thriving.

I have no doubt that it would still be on today. I'm assuming they would have kept it on Tuesdays, rather than move it to Fridays. Watching the DVD for season 1, I realized how great the show was and how much I miss it.

Definitely Jack Tripper. I still watch Three's Company when it's on. 8 Simple Rules was not one of my favorite shows.

I also liked John Ritter as "Harry Hooperman". Even though the show "Hooperman" was short lived I'm a little surprised that his character from that show was not included in this poll.

Yes, I think he was the main reason for the success of Three's Company. The other cast members were very good but I think John held the show together and was many times the focal point.

Without a doubt. What character in sitcom HISTORY is funnier than Jack Tripper?? NO ONE. Not even Lucille Ball and I bet Lucy herself would've admitted that.

For the life of me I'll NEVER understand why people say Seinfeld is such a great show. I can watch an entire episode and MAYBE barely laugh once or twice.

Yet with Jack Tripper's antics in Three's Company you're practically rolling on the floor as you burst out laughing! :lol:

John Ritter was a talented actor, it didn't matter if he was doing comedy or drama. He was one actor that I followed the career of - Hooperman, Hearts Afire, 8 Simple Rules, I watched those shows. As for character, Jack Tripper all the way!
