I was wondering did Mr Brady have any brothers or Sisters.

I have seen all of the episode "many" times and I do not remember a "single" case in which it was mentioned whether Mr. Brady had any brothers or sisters! It is made clear that members of his family who are living include his mother, his father and his grandfather on his father's side. on top of this, we know that he has an aunt. On the episode in which Alice feels unneeded she uses the alaby that she has to stay with her aunt in Seatle. Mrs. Brady finds it hard to swallow that she has an aunt in Seatle that she never mentioned before. Mr. Brady said "I have an aunt in Alberquarckie that I never thought to mention". This aunt was never mentioned again. There is only one implication that I can think of in which you could infer that Mr. Brady was "not" an only child. The episode that I am writing about is "Jan, the Only Child". In this episode, Jan is envious of her friend Donna who is an only child. She says that Donna does not have to fight to get into the bathroom or wait on line to use the phone. Both Mr. and Mrs. Brady try to help Jan understand that there are disadvantages as well as advantages to being an only child. I would think that, if Mr. Brady was an only child himself, he would have used himself as an example as someone who grew up without some of the advantages that Jan has.

I would think that we would see some family members (Mike's parents) at the wedding. The only ones shown were Carol's parents. No siblings on either side.

I realize this was just the pilot, but the writers should have thought of having more family at the wedding.

That's an excellent point... Mike used Donna as an example of someone who didn't have any bro's or sis's to play with, or to help her with her homeword, but never mentioned himself in that way at all. That would have been the perfect time for Mike to show Jan that being an only child isn't all it's cracked up to be...and to use himself as an example, if he'd been one... of course, Mike grew up in the "olden" days, so Jan might have though things were different back then... but yeah, Mike would have brought it up had he been an only child himself.

Yes, I have also read that Robert Reed was raised as an only child. However, I do not think that it was ever made clear whether his character was supposed to be. Like I said before, the only indication that I can think of that he was not was that in, "Jan the Only Child" he did not use himself as an example of how being an only child is not all its crecked up to be.

Furthermore, it is my understanding that Franklin Roosovelt was an only child on his mother's side. His father had been married before and she bore him some number of children that I do not know. I do know, however, that after his first wife died, he got married again and Franklin was the only child that that union ever had.

Even if he had only half brothers and sisters he still would not be considered an only child.

While we are on this topic, let us give honorable mention to Julie Louis-Dreyfus! When she was very young her parents got divorced. Both of her parents went on to remarry. By the end of it, she had two half-sisters on her mother's side and two half-sisters on her father's side! However, she was the only child from the first union. Just a little piece of trivia that I thought that some of you might enjoy!
