My problemwith granola bars is the cocoanut.....which i absolutely despise! (I love pretty much anything ELSE in a granola bar!)....I once found a brand WITHOUT Cocoanut, but, it didnt stay on the market :crying:

Well, that's good...at least granola bars are more healthy :) Are the honey oat ones you're referring to are the crunchy ones put out by Nature Valley? If so, those are good :D

Yeah I love them, I prefer the chewy over the crunchy kind. Sometimes I make my own homemade Granola cereal.

Yeah like fruit, I skin and cut up an Apple and I'll do the same to an Orange. Put it in a bowl and it's like a meal in it's self. Take plain yogurt and all a little of sugar free Strawberry Jello to sweeten and add flavor, and you have a nice low cal dip and snack.

Fruit is for when I'm at my desk at work, not at home.

I get compliments for my figure and I always tell people it is because of what I eat.

Brieannas is right, you can eat some tasty fruit. I love to eat grapes, bananas, watermelon and cantaloupe. Not together, but when I get the munchies, I will turn to fruit first. They have lots of fiber, vitamins and water. Very healthy for you and tasty too.

I also love the caramel flavored rice cakes. I am not into yogurt, but that is a healthy snack. My five year old loves yogurt.

My boyfriend is on a diet (for high blood pressure) and since my youngest daughter is diabetic, I buy nothing but fruits, veggies, chicken, salad, fish, etc. We rarely have red meat. We eat red meat when we go to a party/barbecue.

We may spoil ourselves on stuff like Pizza abt twice a month.

I'm the same way, I'm not a red meat eater. The only time that I'll eat it is if my mother-in-law makes it and we're over for dinner, Or if I go over to my parents house.

Same here. Or if we have a barbecue to invite people over, we have red meat for those we invite, but we will grill chicken breasts as well.

When the doctor told my boyfriend to cut out the red meat, he was devastated. But he realizes how much better he feels, he doesn't feel heavy and have a bloated feeling. You can eat other stuff and feel FULL without feeling like you over did it, you know that sluggish feeling. All that red meat when you are over 25 years of age is not real healthy for you.

I can get full on a bowl of watermelon slices. When I get the munchies at night, that is what I reach for. I buy the ready cut watermelon pieces, that way I don't have to hassle cutting up a whole watermelon.

I love carrots. So sometimes, I'll peel and cut up some carrots into sticks and have them as a snack. I know they have them pre-cut in stores, but, I don't really care for those. I'd rather make my own.

I'm also big on fruit. This year i've been buying a watermelon fruit cup from a local vendor and they are delicious and very filling.

OH Nuts!

With granola bars, it depends who makes them, and most importantly, you have to read the back. If they have 4+ gms fiber that's good. If they've loaded protein into the bar, even better.

APPLES are REALLY good for you. There's a reason for the expression "an apple a day keeps the doctor away". A good sized apple has 5 gms fiber and apples have flavinoids--anti cancer fighting agents. So give me a delicious or gala apple anyday. Yum!
