I think a lot of iPod users are just rude. They turn their music up so loud that everyone around them has to listen. They ignore everyone around them, even the cashier who is trying to take their coffee order or ring up their groceries. I've seen idiots walk across the street or in a parking lot so absorbed in their music that they don't hear the cars coming. (It should be totally legal to run these morons over. Natural selection!) They walk around in their own little worlds.

I know a lot of people have them and love them. I don't understand the appeal.

I don't have one. I have a stereo and a Discman, and I'm too broke to afford an iPod and downloads anyway. :lol: So I don't see myself getting one anytime soon, and that's OK.

I didn't have one for the longest time, but I eventually caved in and bought an ipod video back in May (which was recently stolen). I bought a new Nano because I need something to take to the track with me (and my Discman skipped a lot when I walked, so I found it useless).

I had an ipod video mine was also stolen at work, i brought a shuffle one recently it does the trick!

I don't have one either, I usually just listen to my CD player or the radio. My son doesn't have one either, he's never even asked us to get him one. But that could change at any time. lol!

I did not think I would like one. But then I got one for Christmas two year ago and I love it. It is the small one the Nano I think they call it. I only wear it when I am at work but not clocked in or if I do something on the internet where I don't need to concentrate much. I think they are good because the music is more sharp and they don't skip like discman does. At first I didn't understand the appeal, but now I do.

I had the 1st original fat white 20 GB ipod which kept getting a virus so I had to keep returning it to costco until the summer of 06 instead of giving me the original ipod they gave me a 30 GB video i pod and there hasen't been a problem ever since!

I didn't think I would ever want one. Until I got both my daughters the video one for Christmas last year. I seen how they use it and how efficient it is.

I wanted one so bad, and my boyfriend bought me one for Mother's Day. I actually went with him and bought the one I wanted. Of course, the video one.

I no longer have to burn CD's for my SUV. I now have my ipod and the attachment that allows me to play my ipod in my vehicle. No more looking around for CD's, no more scratched up CD's, no more of that crap. I now have my 3000 + songs in one little ipod, rather than have over 100 + homemade CD's I have to shuffle through. The sound is great, the quality is wonderful, no skipping, etc. It has an equalizer built in. And when I go shopping with my son, he watches videos of Spongebob or whatever kids shows I have downloaded. He is occupied and not bored.

It is so amazing what you can do with the ipod. I can have the 3000 + songs shuffle, or I can arrange a playlist just like on my computer and put all the "old school" songs together, the oldies in one group, the rock music in another playlist, it is great.

I did have one until April. I got tired of paying for every song I downloaded, so I gave it to my niece and I got a Zune player and pay $14.99 a month and download unlimited songs. I couldn't live without it now.... Plus the screen is bigger and you can share the songs with your friends...

Nope... I have a portable CD Player.. that's good enough.. I also now use LimeWire.

I agree with you completely! As I've mentioned before, It's rude and tasteless to be going around with an ipod growing out of your ears. Not to mention potentially dangerous. I hate seeing people listening to music when the whole world is going on around them! Open your eyes!

In my opinion, it's a useless device. No intention of getting one.

For the longest time, I used a walkman. Like Kristel said, the CDs often skipped (cheap walkman?) when I walk/workout, and I hated the intermitten pauses due to that. It was rather annoying. I like for my music to keep going. I also found it a pain to be burning so many CDs with only 80MB worth of music. If I got tired of listening to those particular songs, I had to find another CD or burn a new one. Often, I would lose and/scratch the CDs, so it was costing me more money. I have tons of CDs around my house. I forget to even label a lot of them. What a pain!

Now, I recently purchased an RCA 2GB MP3 player. It does the same things as an iPod. I can listen to music and even add some video, if I wanted to. And, 2GB of music is a good amount, and I have a good variety going. It's all good.

And I still use a VCR too. I'm slow to change. :lol:

Their's really no reason for me to get a recorder. I don't keep the shows I tape anyhow and I got a DVD player if I want to buy TV DVDS. :lol:

I know what you mean. I used to tape and save a lot of stuff back in the days; but storage became a problem.

Nowadays, I just use the VCR to record something for my son so he can watch it over and over. He loves whales and sharks. I happened to record a documentary on Orcas that was on National Geographic. That was good because they don't have that particular documentary available on DVD.

I have a huge movie collection on VHS so I just use some of the tapes from them that I don't watch anymore. I got enough tapes to last me a lifetime...I just hope I can still find VCRs to watch them on. I should stock up on a few, :lol:

Really...:lol: I had a lot of movies on tapes, but I ended up getting them on DVD...I have just a handful of VHS tapes left that have memorable stuff on them from talks shows, newscasts, Court TV and a few movie that I haven't gotten on DVDs...yet.

You didn't. You had to hear the entire tape for it to start from the beginning. :rofl: All the 8-track players had was a FF button. You could use it, but it was rather slow for a fast forward button. :lol:

The best part of an 8 track was when it cut out in the middle to switch tracks. And it always had that loud tick when it did!

I see your point, but I'm not a Rude I-pod person. I keep my ipod down low & listen to people when they talk. I do love my Ipod. It has over 1,600 songs on it. Itls in the shop right now & I can't wait to get it back.

I'm "behind the times," too! Not only did I not collect CDs, I kept my loyalty to cassette tapes! (I still have my tapes, too, but it's been more than ten years since I last bought one.) I have a combination DVD player/VCR that's almost two years old.

As I've gotten older I have lost all interest in new technology. I guess the only new technology I have embraced over the last dozen years is the Internet.

Not yet. I'm holding out until next year when my cell phne contract runs out so I can get a combination phone/MP3 player so I don't have so much bulk in my pockets when out. I'm just fine burning and playing CDs tho, I really don't mind it. Discmans aren't that bad if you get the ones with anti-skip, but I usually only use it on planes/the bus, so I'm not really moving it around anyway.
