I seem to receive more wrong number calls and messages on my cellphone than we receive on our ground line phone. Sometimes, the person will even call my number more than once before they figure out they are calling the wrong person. Does anyone else have this problem?

When I got my new phone, a couple months ago, some guy called looking for Carolyn -- Pretty sure my voice mail does NOT say Carolyn.

Anyway, he left a number, I called it and left a voice mail that informed him that he called the wrong number.

I haven't had any wrong number calls since then.

I've had disgusting text messages sent to me by people I don't know. I've given my cell number to very few people, and I know they wouldn't do that to me. I felt like saying, "That's a lovely sentiment, but I think you're giving it to the wrong girl." :rolleyes:

I keep getting annoying calls from the same person. I have called him back and told him that he has the wrong #, but he still keeps calling and leaving wierd messages....

I used to have this problem a lady called me thinking I was montobello, california's city hall office and after the lady heard my voice mail she said ok I don't know if this is a kid on the answering machine or if it's a man acting childish but I am gonna report this childish answering machine to your supervisor. That lady was crazy:eek:

This has happened a couple of times:

Whenever i get a phonecall from a # I don't recognize, i let the voicemail pick up.

The voicemail message is from a guy speaking Spanish. Usually, he says the name of the person I assume he is trying to reach (he sounds confused too, as if he's wondering why his friend's voicemail greeting is in another language) followed by a detailed message. In Spanish.

Now, if you called a number and heard a voicemail in another language, wouldn't you assume that you have dialed the wrong number?

And you people wonder why i drink!

Don't you hate that?! Ugh, ever since I got my cell phone I keep getting calls for the same person. I get calls from many people looking for this person. They even leave me messages. That is what drives me crazy because I say my NAME on my voicemail. Why would you leave a message for someone if the voicemail greeting said a name that isn't who you're looking for?

Last year there was this guy that kept calling my cell phone asking for Kurt. This was a guy that was from northern Illinois (I looked up the area code). At first I told him several times that there is no Kurt but he kept calling about twice a week. I got so fed up that I changed my cell phone so that it doesn't pick up when I open. Whenever he called, I simply terminated the call without answering it. It then started to happen only once or twice a month and now he no longer calls. I think he finally got the message.

Same thing happens to me since I recently switched cell phone. 3 different Japan numbers keep calling me (keep in mind there is a 16 hour time difference as well so mostr of them are 2-5 in the morning). Not sure if it is a routing issue or what but getting woken up by someone speaking Japanese at 4 am is really irritating
