View Full Version : Sex Before The Shipwreck

A somewhat adult question here--but that's allowed. Seriously speaking, how many different sexual partners would you say each castaway has had BEFORE they were shipwrecked on the island. If you elect to answer this question, you can give a range if you can't come up with an exact number--example---5-8 rather than 6. Thanks.

To Zoneboy:
Hi! It depends what you mean by "serious." It's a question about the show, just like some of the others in previous threads--a supposition, like those that had asked about sex on the isle, etc., only this is an extrapolation about their history before the shipwreck.

It's weird to ask this kind of question about this innocent show because it's a subject that they never really discussed,it was tabou. It's like asking if the women of Sex in the City ever consider becoming nuns?

this whole question is moot....Everyone knows the show was about 4 eunuchs and the 3 frigid women they were forced to survive with ;) :p

A rather odd question for GILLIGAN'S ISLAND INDEED. I mean, maybe this question would fit well with a show like SEINFELD. I agree with the whole sex not being invented until ALL IN THE FAMILY as well.

If GI took place in today's day and age (the reality show doesn't count), this show would be all about which castaway was sleeping with Ginger and Maryann. And there would be betrayals, and catfights between Ginger and Maryann, just like there is in basically EVERY show on the airwaves today. But then, shows were wholesome, family shows. GI is still viewed that way. Hard to imagine it in terms of sex. I do think that Gilligan and Maryann would've made a great couple though. They should've done something with that (in a clean way, of course).

An odd question, but I'm game...

Gilligan(0) innocent and not interested
Skipper(5) he was in the navy and he's been around a while
Mr. Howell(4) he's rich and Ivy League--scored when young, but none of them meant anything until Lovey and he's never cheated
Mrs. Howell(2) she's reserved and proper, but she's human and was young once
Ginger(8) NOT thinking casting couch slut here...she just loves men..and serial monogamy
Professor(1) he tried it---liked it, but not as much as intellectual things
Mary Ann(2) she's moral and pure, but at least a couple of guys were "special enough"

The real answer, though, is that we have no idea---and it's really totally outside the context of the show! :)

Sorry to those who were so upset by this question--if you look through many of the old threads, there are much less "innocent" things said at times! I was merely treating the characters as actual people and wondering what you would see them as in terms of their lives before the shipwreck--who they were/are with respect to this area of life, where they are coming from. I don't personally believe if they had had some, many or no sexual encounters it would make them less likeable, I was merely asking how you saw them if you had to think about it--of course we don't "know," but there's no need to ask this about "Seinfeld" because they've probably discussed that enough on the show itself--the GI characters are still supposed to be people. But to give you some answers other people gave me on this:
Gilligan: 1-3; 3-4; 0-1
Skipper: 25-35; 10-15; 1-7
Thirston: 5-7; a few; 1
Lovey: 1; 1; 1
Ginger: 15-25; 6-8; 10-20
Professor: 3-5; 5-7; 1-2
Maryann: 0; 0; 0

Actually, the "Three Hour Tour" was a front for a swinging singles gig. Skipper and Gilligan had been running this hedonistic operation for years! Mr. and Mrs. Howell had enough money to buy their way in, while Maryann and Ginger were part of it for....well, obvious reasons! The professor was in it to conduct an experiment on social behavior....or so he says. The university was paying him for it. :)

There's nothing wrong with your question. We're all adults, and the question was tame. If it bothers anyone, nobody's forcing them to read the thread or participate.

Thanks, Bonsai, for biting the bullet, as it turned out to be ( I didn't think people would be as shocked as they were!) and answering my question. I figured I'd reply to the numbers you presented with my own response. GILLIGAN: I disagree with the not interested part, as for the "innocent," I do think that is possible--but if I had to bet a quarter with Thirston (we all know how that can turn out!), I think he has a little experience.
SKIPPER: I'd guess alot more than 5. THIRSTON: Yes, I agree--Ivy League, college guys "scoring" somewhat. LOVEY: Again, I think 1 or 2 is possible but, if I bet my quarter, I'd say very proper, interested in making a good match for herself--0. GINGER: I
don't think she's a "casting couch" woman, either, but I'd venture to put her numbers a little higher. PROFESSOR: I agree, a bit of experience, but I think it was probably a bit more than that--a small number of relationships with college/grad school/academic girlfriends, maybe a small number of casual encounters. MARYANN: I think if she had been older than the 19 that she was I would agree with your 2 but, given her age in conjunction with her temperament, I think we first met her when she was still holding out for the man she would marry.

Alright,I'll play too ;)

Gilligan:1-he probably done it with the girl name Florence. We know that he kissed her at least once. She's the girl that he won the record for the most longest kiss with). She had braces and her bubble gum was stuck in it :)

The skipper:10-he's a sailor and I'm pretty he had many wild nights.

Mr.Howell:5-before he met Lovey.

Mrs.Howell:1- his name was Mark Maremsy. She made Thurston jalous with him and beleive she dated him before she met her husband.

Ginger:5-She flirts alot but,I don't think she has dated that much men that she pretend to.

The professor:2-his first crush when he was a teenager then he moved away.
His second love probably one of who he almost married but, didn't work.He spend too much time working on his experiments.

Mary Ann:1-her fiancé Herbert from the movie then she went on 3 hour tour and you know the rest.
