View Full Version : The Toilet Paper Question
swedeace 08-16-2007, 04:26 PM What do you do when you are at someone's house and the toilet paper has run out? Assume that you didn't notice until you were already sitting down before you noticed. Do you feel comfortable in searching through their cabinets? Do you call out to the host/hostess and ask for it? Explains your stories and/or toliet paper horror stories?
As for me, I will try and search their cabinets only for toilet paper. It happened to me last night when I attended an event for a peach freeze get-together. There was only one square of toilet paper left on the roll, so I opened up the hostess' cabinet and found a roll of toilet paper and replaced it. I don't search through people's cabinets unless a toilet paper situation comes up like this.
-STEFFY- 08-16-2007, 05:03 PM Once, I was already sitting on the toilet bowl in the process of taking a hefty dump when I realized that there was no toilet paper!!! Hey, it wasn't my house! The host or whoever was in the bathroom last should have replaced the damn toilet paper! Unfortunately, I had to call someone there on their cell phone! Lucky for me I had my own cell phone with me in the bathroom. I had to get up to get to the doorknob, unlock it, and let my friend in who had some spare toilet paper for me. I didn't care that much. I just wanted to wipe my butt and get the hell out of that bathroom!
If a similar situation arises in someone's bathroom, I make sure to check the cabinets for toilet paper before I do my bathroom business. :)
 My word. What a poll! I answered it before I read your assumptions. However, I have a relative who never seemed to have toilet paper in her bathroom. I teased her so much about it that she began to make sure the bathroom was stocked before I visited. Any time I am not at home, I always check the TP supply before I use the facility. Carrying tissues in my purse doesn't hurt either.
Nighthawk76 08-16-2007, 07:53 PM Mona, there seems to be no end to your problems. ;)
Janice 08-18-2007, 02:32 PM I wouldn't think twice about opening a few cabinets to look for toilet paper, if I found myself in that predicament. If I happen to stumble upon some good prescription drugs, why that's just an added bonus! j/k ;)

my sentiments exactly.:D
80sTrivia 08-19-2007, 06:39 PM I think any good host would be fine with a guest searching their cabinets for a roll of toilet tissue in such a case. Luckily, it's never happened to me, but it does remind me of the "Can you spare a square?" episode of Seinfeld...

You should've read what someone wrote at another forum where I also posted this. They wrote, "I'd use a curtain."

What happens if you are out of your home for hours at a time? Holding it in can be very unhealthy. It's a good way to get a weaker bladder. In turn when you are older in age, your bladder will hold less muscles and will give you the need to "go" more often and immediately. That's what has happened to a friend of mine in her early 40s. She has done a lot of waitressing in her early 20s and was busy for hours at a time where she would have to hold it in. When she now needs to go, she has to go; otherwise, she'd have an accident. Her bladder became weaker. Yikes!
Dude111 11-08-2023, 10:16 PM Well we all do #2 right?? :D
I usually secretly try to find more!!
ThisLittlePiggy 11-09-2023, 01:17 AM I might look for a clean washcloth and use that and then wad it up and throw it away somewhere quickly. I guess.
Dude111 11-09-2023, 01:35 AM Hm didnt think of that but I dont know if I would wanna use one of thier good clothes...
ThisLittlePiggy 11-09-2023, 06:42 PM I mean, I don't know if I could go through with it in real life. I just thought it up. I might scream for them to bring me a new roll. LOL
stevea 11-09-2023, 06:49 PM I guess I'd look in cabinets.
I'd generally advise everyone to keep a spare roll on the tank, in plain view.
Dude111 11-09-2023, 06:56 PM Yes excellent advice!
Or have one of those beday things :)
