Does anyone out there have a copy of the 1969 special Dick Van Dyke and th Other Woman(starring Mary Tyler Moore) that they may have recorded when it was aired on TVLAND a couple of years ago. I never saw this special, but i've heard about from friends who greately enjoyed it. The special reignited the careers of Dick Van Dyke and showcased the incredable talents of Mary Tyler Moore which led to the successful creation of her own sitcom, The Mary Tyler Moore Show. I only have a audio recording of the special , but I would love to see it. Apparently when TVLAND aired the special a couple of years ago, I was on a deployment. I would love to see this special if anyone has a copy of that they recorded off tv.

TV LAND aired it??? When? Must have been before we got it, in 2000.

TVLAND told me in 2006 that they aired it back in 2005 when I was on my round-the-world deployment....i hope I can get them to air it again sometime.

And I also hope they release it on DVD. (I read somewhere that there's been A LOT of requests for it; but unfortunetaly; the old problem of music rights is holding it back).

The only special I remember TV Land airing is a rerun of the reunion special, which was on TV Land around that time. Also I think another airing of the Inside TV Land or whatever that show was, but not the DVD and the Other Woman special. I think like most of these places, TV Land has no idea what they're talking about! (What can you expect from a place that use to play countless reruns of What's Happening?!?!?!)

I strongly doubt Dick Van Dyke & The Other Woman was ever aired on TV Land. Customer Service being what it is today, I'm not surprised they got it mixed up with the "Reunion" episode.

Trekky is correct - the music rights are what was holding it up. i DO have a copy on VHS and it's wonderful. Still hoping that we can get it out on DVD someday - it was to have been a part of my special collection of all 5 seasons, but you all know how that went.

but who knows. I will keep trying and see what we can do.

I can't tell you, because I wouldn't remember, I would have been to young. But, I can tell you that I have been doing research and all fo the scenes from the special were posted on YouTube by JayFive67. Typer his name in YouTube and they should all be in there somewhere. Good Luck!

i'm almost 100% positive that the special only aired once on CBS. I'm now working on a possible way to stream it on Vcast and other cellphones or see what might be done - it's really wonderful and should be seen by the world.

no, it aired at least twice on CBS; because I can remember seeing it when they reran it; about in the 2nd season of her series.

If CBS did rerun it during Mary's second season (1971-1972) that would make sense because wasn't that also the same year that The New Dick Van Dyke Show had its debut?
